Try a higher cost of living, council tax, government tax take, VAT, Import duties, Land and building rentals, fuel costs, etc it all adds up.

Doesn't mean its right, just means that communist governments should never ever be voted into power. By their nature they increase the carbon footprint due to the above inefficiencies of the country by at least 25% therefore save the planet vote out Labour!

Though with Oz prices on FI kits about $7k (hardware only, no tune or labour) is does show that Head and Cam kits here are somewhat overpriced. In Oz they are around half the price of FI going by Russo's prices anyway.

I'm confused now... I think you are talking about England, but everything you mentioned applies to Australia...

Don't forget that you get the actual cars cheaper there than in the country they are built. And your average wage is higher there as well.
