4300K or 5000K and you'll be fine. 55W not entirely necessary and I couldn't see a difference with the 35W.
One of the first mods I did and all still good. You may sometimes get a flickering on one lamp (or both just on start up) - I rectified this by fitting a 2 second delay relay.

So can you confrim H7 please? I don't understand the 2 s - delay relay? Caould you explain further please.
Good night, Steve
OK, H7 - yes (for dipped beam I take it - I personally wouldn't do the main beam)
Don't worry too much about the flickering - it only last a second or two and is nearly always caused by a voltage drop (normally when cranking the car) so when the car starts and the Alternator start spinning, everything's back to normal. It's normally a tell-tale sign of a failing battery and only occurred when starting at night...so like I said, not worth worrying about
I used http://www.hids-direct.co.uk/ and bought one of their Canbus kits
And a vid - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5X6IxfmZGI8

I bought the same kit and apart from the occasionally flickering Gary mentions above (mine is significantly less now with a new battery) and twice one of the spade connectors has slipped out of the socket, they've been absolutely brilliant. They are on a par with any car I've owned with OEM HIDs. MOT? No problems with mine.Don't worry too much about the flickering - it only last a second or two and is nearly always caused by a voltage drop (normally when cranking the car) so when the car starts and the Alternator start spinning, everything's back to normal. Someone on here recently fitted at pair of HID headlamps on their VXR8 (the forum's search facility is down so I can't look back).
Have you had any subsequent problems? And can you confirm the fitting bulb is H7?
I'm intendign to go for 55W HID at 4300K.
Thanks, Steve

I've got the lights but haven't had the chance to fit yet, I'm too busy chasing down an ABS fault at the moment.
They should be in during the next week or so.

I have a 4300k set of these arriving in a friends suitcase from Oz in the not too distant future. Price has gone up a bit - worked out at £91 at the time, which is comparatively expensive but I do like the "clean" install. Will let you know how I get on.
I just got a set on Monday, fitting them at weekend so i will let you know mik
They do look smart, asked seller about replacement bulbs and ballast's,$35 for a bulb $38 for ballast but free postage

Please do. I really liked the idea of those but couldn't justify buying a pair when I already have some fitted. If I didn't the integrated ballast idea is very neat indeed.Stef

Very good Moif - would be interested to hear any issues - it will be another couple of weeks before I'll get to fit mine. They do look smart, asked seller about replacement bulbs and ballast's,$35 for a bulb $38 for ballast but free postage
Did you go for the std 6000k setup?

Yeah had 6000k on other cars and that seems to be about right

Did my hids today, took me about a hour,no issues at all,but check each one before you put it all back together as they are polarity sensitive
On passenger side you will need to remove air box if you have one (i dont,i have a otr)btw easy side
Drivers side imo its best to remove wheel and then undo about 6 clips that hold the wheel liner, you dont have to remove it totally, just bend it out of the way, once this has been done it makes it so easy to change any of the lights on drivers side(could do the same for passenger side but you will still need to remove air box)
Normal:
Hids
I know it's day time but you can see the difference in the flesh
Great - thanks Moif.
I stuck some Osram Nighbreakers in recently, so know what a pain it is to access the drivers side unit ( passengers side was a doddle as i too have an otrcai.)
I pulled the fuse box out of the way to get access last time, but i may try your wheelarch-access method this time -access was still pretty tight with the fuse box moved over.

Mik,believe me, its a piece of piss doing it the wheelarch way,cos if you drop the bulb you have to take the wheel liner out to probably get it and the best of all you dont swear and hurt yourself
