Car lift 2post or 4post ?
Discussion
Evening all,
Thank you for replies, very helpful with a clear winner.
So, now just to decide which I need.
My floor as far as I know is a good industrial concreted area.
I will drill some test holes to make sure, think I need to speak to the
landlord aswell.
Height is no restriction, so clear floor lift looks good.
Power can be three or single phase, however if the difference is only lift speed
then I'd go with single phase as this leaves me a spare way on the dis board.
What other advantages for using 3 phase ?
Lift would not be used as part of my everyday business, could be sat unused for
weeks at a time. Will need to be able to leave it fully raised when not being used.
Vehicles I would need to lift......well.....only one in mind, vxr8, and if it does
this ok, then all the other cars in my family are smaller, oh, perhaps my traffic van.

This is the one that I've got http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dl
The only down side is that the pads are lifted with spacers instead of being on screws.

Thanks Andy,
Made by same company as the one on my shortlist.
How long have you had it and are you happy with how it all works (pad spacers aside)
Do you use it every day, or just hobby ?
Can you get the pads under the car without having to pre-jack it up?
TIA
Thanks for all the advise guys.
Took a little (a lot actually !)while longer, but I had a lot to sort out this year.
Finally got the 2 post installed last week.
I got the Peak 209C with the extra width extension kit.
With the pad extenders I can have the the car up high enough 6ft 4 1/2"
and safety locked so that I can walk under without bashing may head in
Added bonus is that the van goes up to full height just before hitting the
safety rail.
Now, what should I break first......

Its his unit.... I'm sure its a WORKS LIFT!!!! not sure what it would be used for.... repairing the fork lift???
It's a rented unit for my business, the lift is pure self indulgence, as is the car I just wanted one. Everything in there is either palletised or on wheels so its quite flexible in terms of space. I've got a garage at home but its full up of ......stuff Gassing Station | HSV & Monaro | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
