Can anyone help me get a new HSV key programmed? The old one went dead and a mate bought me a new one over from Oz but it needs progamming. I am using the spare at the moment. its for my 2000 (UK)GTS #018

However, lucky for me UK_HSV knows all about the GTS process. Apparently, you need two new keys to start with (if you want to keep a spare)....then have to get the car to programme the new keys.... then it all works!

So, I have to get another new key before I start this process.

Note: the original key worked for about 3 years before "Going flat"...still starts the car but no remote locking etc.

I also tried the Monaro trick posted here elsewhere , that is to put the new key in the ignition, turn on, turn off and its supposed to be programmed. This didn't work and I still have only one new key, still unprogrammed!!
