It isn't as bad as I first thought, first of all I thought it was the end of the world :S

Hopefully it is just the front bumper, I can't see any damage on the wing etc

Does anyone know if it will be reasonable easy for a Vauxhall dealer to get parts to repair it? I will take it in on Monday to get it looked at, but, worried that it might take a while to get parts...

Most parts are kept in stock and should only take a couple of days to get.

Oh good, my baby can be back to new quickly hopefully (depending on how much the insurance company drags their heels)

I just thought I would update you on this accident and also hopefully help others out that find themselves in a similar situation.

I have spoken to the police today, they are saying that the Galaxy driver is claiming that his car was broken down on that date with a knackered engine and that he couldn't possibly have been involved in the accident. My two witnesses (four really as they were couples) were contacted by the police, one of them has responded giving full details of the accident to the police but also saying that they have not got the registration of the vehicle. The other witness has sadly not responded. I am now left in a situation where the police are unable to prosecute the <sensored> driver as they cannot get independant confirmation of the vehicle. Lesson #1 - Ensure that all witnesses have written down and retained registration details.

Similar situation with the insurance company. They have a statement from the witness including a description of the Galaxy but again no registration. They are now going to send him another letter giving him 7 days before taking this to court. I do have the registration written on a piece of paper by the witness and it seems that even though this is acceptable to the courts the police will not take any notice of it.

As it stands I could end up losing the £500 excess and also my no claims bonus. The really annoying thing is that in my car I had a digital camera, if only I would have had the sense to have taken a picture of the other car!! Lesson #2 - If you have a camera - USE IT!

Hopefully this will be of use to someone, looks like I am going to have a struggle here, but if it helps someone else out then some good has come from it.
