A story with pictures and video

I went back to Surrey Rolling Road again today to put it on the Dyno This was to see what the figures were like after getting the Headers done. (More pics Here and Here)

I got there a bit early so I took a little clip of the Sound of the exhaust also wanted to show everyone how small the boot is, even put a CD in so that people can judge size.

So, my car went on the Dyno and took a BIG VIDEO and a smaller version and another smaller one

And the result

Happy with the results, added 14.6BHP @ the wheels and lots more torque. For anyone interested the calculation of the flywheel BHP was 415.1 up 17.1BHP.

Not sure if this is consistent with others that have had the headers done but I am pleased enough.

Great set of before and after postings, and well done on the video/sound clips as well it does sound the dogs bits.
What we need now is a standard 6.0 VXR to be dynoed and we will have all numbers to compare the various stages off tune.

How is the ASBO coming on?

Yup, I was talking today about that, there must be someone out there with a standard 6.0 VXR who wants to dyno it. I Might even pay for it

Did you compare you cat-back only run with mine whilst you were down there?

Yeah, didn't get a print though, within probably 1-2bhp all the way along

Figures look comparable to mine (done at TMS)

Here's my result

So, what d'ya rekon to the sound... have you done any tunnels yet?

Yeah, but you got 2 horses more than me

As for tunnels, I don't think there are any in the South East that I haven't done Even more people staring now!

Would be great if you used Surrey Rolling Road, would have a full set from the same source then

I was going to use Power Engineering in Uxbridge coz it's 2 mins up the road, but I don't have a problem going to Surrey RR. Who do i need to speak there and how much????

Sorry mate, didn't mean to put you out! As BO55 says, speak to Charlie.

Be good to get a print out showing all three on one graph

Excellent idea, he has my pre and post headers graph so shouldn't be difficult.

I'll see what I can do, might be able to take the afternoon off, wouldn't want to go on the dyno but would be good to see a std running.

I am beginning to think that unless you test two or more cars on the same day, on the same dyno, in the same conditions and with the same operator that comparing the figures is completely useless!

I struggle to believe that a 5.7 with the same modifications as a 6.0 can match it for power.

Oh I just love these dyno debates, always conclusive

Generally true, but its the different makes of dyno that cause the problems.

Simplest thing is to only ever use Dyno Dynamics dynos, because generally they all read the same and will do all year round. (obviously i'm going to say that hehe)

Yes, you would say that

It isn't really as simple as that though, some operators will inflate the figures by entering high IT figures etc. I bet if I went to another Dyno Dynamics dyno it would produce slightly different results.

So is there a group thing happening at Surrey Rolling Road then?
If so, how much would it cost? Can we bring non-HSV cars too?

No m8, just biglump on the dyno, I am just along to watch.

I am sure that Charlie could fit you in if you wanted to go though
