Hey guys,

I need to get two new rear tyres for the ro (04 CV8). I've had Avon zz3's on all round and have been impressed with them, but I fancy a change. Looking at 250 quid for the pair. Any suggestions?
I can easily get a pair of Falkens, but after reading about them on here i'm not so sure about them.

I don't want to touch F1's as i had a pretty serious problem with them a while back where the sidewalls wore only on the inside rim and failed at high speed. a few people have had the same problem with them.

Still not sure exactly what to get.
I'm seriously thinking about getting the Falkens and just trying them for myself, they can't be THAT bad on the rear can they?

Other than that, I might go back to the Avon ZZ3's (nothing wrong with them) as I just don't have the funds to splash out on a decent set at the mo frown

K, I need to make a decision now. I'm either going to get the Avon ZZ3's refitted.......or try out some Dunlop Sport Maxx's to the rear.

Which would you choose?

Thanks for the advice guys.

In that case i'll settle for the ZZ3's again on the rear, and when the front's start to eventually go i'll get Sport Maxx's fited all round.

The only thing is I can't get hold of any z rating ZZ3's......only Y. That won't be an issue will it?

Guys,
Now i've had the new rear's fitted. I was expecting them to feel diffrent for a while whilst they get bedded in.
But today I had a drive down to town and i'm alarmed about how the rear end feels. It's fine around town but as soon as you're at 50 or over, it feels like the rear wheels haven't been connected back on properly. I've had a look and they definetly are.....but it feels terrible when you're driving round a corner and the whole back end just wobbles from side to side.
Please tell me this is normal?
I'm off to the Maxi meet tommorow so would be happy for someone to have a drive themselves and see what it's like?

Cheers guys, after tea will go and check the pressures and find a quite area to whip them up. I know the bolts are tight enough as i had a check earlier when i thought they were about to fall off! Hopefully they'll be alright after a run down to Warminster tommorow for the meet.

Edited to add:

Just had a run out and took them off for a look. I'm sure it's just that they need to be run in. They're pyramid shaped so i've taken a bit of pressure out and hope to wear down the middle of the tread so it's even.

Fair play to him then, the milage has now been amended.......well at least now everything seems all in order.

Will be interesting to see if any PH'er buys it. Although at that price I doubt it hehe
