They won't".......There, its been said, (holds breath for insults)

Why don't Tuscan 2s full converts like mine make this sort of money, as they are less common than the saggy. And faster....
Coz no one really, truly likes the convertibles. My best mate had the choice of a few T2S's and elected to go with the Targa. It's a much nicer shape. In many peoples opinion, the drophead killed the lines of the Tuscan. TvR just sold their Spectraflair T2S Targa, but haven't been able to move the claret T2S Convert. And BTW, the values on 2005- T2S's have been rising steadily recently, just not quite as aggressively as the Sagaris. The Sag is the Sag. Yes more made than T2S's, but you have to compare how many Sags you're going to see on the road, compared to how many Tuscans (of all derivatives). I'll get my coat!
Don't think that's true. I've just picked the Sag up from HHC and they've got some in that are stunning. Must admit the 'wavey' dashboard sets them off. I could be tempted by a convertible very easily.
I agree, the T2 converts are beautiful, they will rocket in price in a few years.
This is the only car I would consider, if I was in the mood for a change. Very late Tuscan 2S, TARGA, low miles, WAVEY DASH, mint and a superb colour.

Trust me, there isn't a convertible that looks as good as this. What's more? The price, Sag price. A late T2S wavey dash, TARGA will hold its own against any Sag on price. Wish I could afford this, to keep my Sag company in the garage!

Sean mate, we all have our personal loves and hates and opinions. And I am genuinely sorry that you didn't enjoy owning a Sag, and each to their own. But I think that most would agree that the Sag and the Noble are in the same league as each other. They have similar weight and similar power and both handle well.

I'm not sure what axe you have to grind here, but I really don't think you got the best out of your Sag considering the opinions you are expressing.

(I'm not sober either, so I hope I am being diplomatic here)

Sean is partially right & know with experience where he is coming from, I have owned both Sagaris for 4 years now M400 for two years. His words are a bit harsh in comparing both, I drove Sagaris how it was intended for track days & fast road, same with the M400.

The M400 wins hands down in all performance & handling departments, especially on track would anhililate any Speed Six Sagaris akin to the way Ali beat Foreman in 74 pretty close for 8 rounds then.... & there are sevaral that would give the LS one a shock on track too.

I do regret selling my Sagaris in a way but elated still have M400. In an perfect World funds permitting would have both in my garage the M400 for track including Ring/Spa & Sagaris for it's rarity, looks & been simply a TVR. Although perhaps M400 is rarer.

I'm not surprised the Sagaris is appreciating the way it has & still will no doubt & would pay around £50K for one but only with the investment of the 4.5 SS TVR Power engine already installed for that money plus would have to be pristine & pampered like mine was.

There is lots of discussion around cars being for use, about collectors buying cars and not using them, and about folk buying for profit. I fit into neither description, I’m an enthusiast that likes to own mint unmolested examples of the marque, and I use them as intended. smile We are lucky enough to own more than one, so the mileage is shared/reduced.

The current crop of top price cars will not be of interest to those wishing to buy for profit, and many will be of no interest to collectors having been re-trimmed and repainted. Most collectors wish to see standard cars.

That leaves those that buy them for use. Does the number of cars currently available at high end prices suggest that folk wishing to buy to use think they are too expensive to use?? scratchchin

They seem to have been selling, dealers are driving the market upwards and advertise for what they think they can get for them, but are folk being offered more in P-ex - the real litmus test of value??

I find it a bit sad that on so many TVR PH posts now, one of the biggest focuses of attention is the perceived future value of the cars. Have we changed what we want from our cars becuase they seem to be bucking a trend?

Lets hope not. smile

as a Sag owner it's nice to know they are appreciating, it's not the be all and end all but it's good to know, though with running/servicing costs of cars that are used like mine it's peanuts compared to what I spend on it.

Exactly right. The appreciation is merely subsidising some of the upkeep costs. The upkeep costs are what separate good from great Sagaris'.

The upkeep costs are a big part of what separate good from great Sagaris'.

Almost no cost maintenance in terms of time also play a huge part, sadly being able to build such entertaining cars at 50K drove TVR to use poor coatings and fasteners. Soap/water/WD40 are your friend..

Same will apply to your Tuscan racer when you get bitten by the bug smile

Ha! Busted. You are of course right John. The only difference is that I have never resented spending on the Sagaris, whilst with a racer I also have to invest in a good covered trailer and a decent 4x4 to pull it. And probably a mechanic in tow as well to keep me on the track!

And a set of tools, and spares, and a number of brownie points you never thought possible, and a motorhome etc etc but it's great fun smile

I am happy that Sag prices seem to be creeping up for lots of reasons. The main ones being that it may keep up the values and interest in other TVRs and it makes my T350 seem even better value for what it is when compared with a Sag.
That's in no way sour grapes - I would love to own a Sag (and other dream cars) but at least the money I haven't spent can go on another car as well as allowing me to keep the T350 in a good state.
I am happy to admire cars at the next level up in the same way that when I owned a Nova in 1994 I dreamed of owning a TVR.....
