Oh yeah - I swear I've seen them without - apart from the copy track cars (can't remember the names, sorry).

After chatting to Dom and Jason at Chatsworth, and with Tim (Saggy owner) with the ACT/jp exhaust already installed I decided to go for it

I have the ACT/JP exhaust on the Saggy now, though I am overseas at moment and the car needs some driving when Im back on terrafirma

Initial 10 days drive in October it sounds wow

@clife
Are the PDQ vents only an optical tuning? I do not understand the function of this construction.
As far as I know, opening the chassis at these places is to get out the heat of the car - isn't it?

So, putting in the rubbercaps will close the holes again.

cheers Josef

Will help at silly speeds, so good for track and Autos.

The normal reason is to stop high pressure building up in the wheelarches . Opening them properly will decrease lift and probably reduce drag.

@David
Ok, but the "problem" with the closed vents is still there. The only way out of the high pressure is through the rubber tube which are mounted on the caps!

Alex, can you send me pics when sorted, one of the areas I am really not happy with.
Sure. Will be a month or so before it is complete though.

I confess to having seen neither "in the flesh" so to speak, but from pictures alone I have to say I prefer what Don had done, which is having the vents completely cut out and mesh added to the gaps, rather than the rubber cups in these pics.

Zeppo , When I say properly I mean open and ducted to the inner wheelarches with no condoms to prevent the passage of air . The benefits should be better stability and handling , less drag so higher top speed and lower fuel consumption. To the picture below there is to be added a gauze over the vents and a louvered alloy panel on the inner wing.

pdq vents purely for looks, open vents will help as plasticman says, but only at silly speeds, track cars etc.

But I would say that if a muppet like me can feel the difference, imagine what a racer would feel like...

I have to say I have nether really felt the benefit of vented wings in race cars, there is one of course but it is usually more of a package of benefits brought together.

I saw a big difference in corner speeds with mine. Mind you, new tyres also help! But I'd swear I felt more rear grip....

These show the PDQ type clearer...

Must admit, I still prefer the mesh approach even if it is more expensive.
Looks more natural with the car to me.

But nice job anyway biggrin

hehe I think they look great, and at probably a third of the cost of mesh ones makes them better still.

always thought with the mesh ones you`d expect to find a monkey behind them begging for peanutshehe
