Sag now reduced - why so cheap?
Discussion
i am not pissed about giving mine away for so called peanuts as i sold it for more than i paid and was happy with the price as for str8six making a profit good luck to them no i am not after another sag as for the sold one at str8six im sure it says under offer which doesnt mean its sold it is fact that sags arent selling like they were and this has to be mainly down to price
There were less than 200 sold altogether - so for most, it's hardly E-Type Jag territory in the beauty stakes, is it?
I am assuming that so few sold because so few wanted one, and it is only trading on its rarity value now.
Just thinking outside the box - as I love the looks and stance of the Sag.

E type, What is apart from a Griffith, none of the T cars come close.I am assuming that so few sold because so few wanted one, and it is only trading on its rarity value now.

As for so few sold because so few wanted one, you could say the same about 250GTO

Gaz golds suggest it's been run on a budget, that would put me off.
"Each to their own" and all that, but this is the second thread I've heard this damper nonsense on... My car runs Gaz Golds, as do hundreds of other TVRs on here. These cars are, in the majority, enthusiast owned, cherished and want for nothing. Just because someone doesn't use the car in a manner worthy of blowing 2k+ on Nitrons, why would that suggest it's not been looked after? Thanks for lots of interesting replies. I didn't want this one to become a Sag prices thread, more curiosity about this particular one.
I quite like the body colour and agree that the inside is a bit Marmite - easily fixed to a degree just with a steering wheel change.
What made me think was I have just spent a few grand on my T350 and all of a sudden I thought "actually, that could have gone in to buying this". I then agree with one reply that I could end up spending another £5k to bring it up to the same standard as mine. Well, make that a bit more if I want Ohlins again! ;-)

Isn't it just that it's a non-specialist dealer who's taken it as a trade-in on something pricy and now needs it off his books?
You're almost certainly right: I was tired and missed that.robsco said:

Gaz gold are a cheap budget damper, they are not in the same league as the OE Sag damper but are a lot cheaper.WolfyJones said:

Interesting, I always thought that original Sag dampers were the same as the T-cars. So who made the original Sag dampers, and how much did TVR pay for them?slimtater said:

Colour wise it looks fantastic, money wise it's still a bargain even if it does need a bit of money spending on it,I quite like the body colour and agree that the inside is a bit Marmite - easily fixed to a degree just with a steering wheel change.

It only really needs a 12 k service, all the other stuff can be done at a later stage, can't see it hanging around for long at that price.

No, OE Sag dampers cost more than Nitrons.Genuine question - anyone know who made the originals for TVR?
