Toyo R1R's for me too, gone to 245 on the rear, worked well at a Blyton track day and on the crappy, but ultimately rewarding roads in Derbyshire

Cheers smile

I try to use the car only in the dry, but a tyre that doesn't break traction too easily when it's damp would be good - I know the 4.3 has a lot more torque than my current 3.6, and just want to minimise being caught out...

That's where quick reaction times come in! Failing that get some syvecs or similar with traction control. I feel that does defeat the TVR objective a bit though I'll probably eat my words when I'm starting the thread 'Back end broke away. Can anyone recommend a body shop'.....

hehe
I have never had any problems with the standard Tam, it is great on the twisties and very predictable, whereas the Chim 450 I had before scared me more, even though it had less power, but more low down torque...

Lots of torque and very wet greasy roads are not a great mix as I unfortunately know all to well frown
The 350 is still quite predictable but has a very quick rack meaning you really don't have a lot of reaction time if it snaps.
I run T1Rs on mine at the moment but am going to replace them later this year as they're not great, ran BF Goodrich G-Force profilers before and really liked them but no longer available from what I can see.

Yes, definitely!
My seat backs were also silver when I bought mine, and had them changed back to black when I had my re-trim back in May.
I hope mine pumps out a little more than 141bhp though! hehe

I think the next thing (after this) is to get some new rubber and then have my rock ‘ard Nitrons sorted – but for now, I am like a 12 year old coming up to Christmas again!

Also, after this outlay, any other changes/mods will seem like small change. hehe
To me, doing stuff like this is more fun than buying a brand new car – buying a middling Tamora that looked tired inside and slowly making it my own and how I want it.

I must also say that my wife is brilliant! How she puts up with my childish wants, I don't know!

Same as me love to get the car as I want it and it should be there once it gets back from the body shop

As far as traction control goes you could always get Doms put on yikes he did try and sell me that but that,s another £2500, I have had a couple of titchy moments though so ease the power in coming out of corners , but I think it would take away the pureness of driving a TVR by the seat of your pants

silly old sausage I meant 414BHP

You really need to get your quotations sorted - that took a while to decipher! hehe

I don't want TC, and I have got used to the quick steering rack, as most of fun I have is between 40-70 on the twisties. Although I can completely understand why the guys in the T-350's and Sags want more power and TC, as I see them as more of a GT car.
I did have the Quaife LSD fitted in anticipation of the 4.3 - I still can't believe I am finally having it done. I cannot wait to drive it after the upgrade!

The new dial face looks interesting. I already have a new digital screen and clear plastic fascia in my drawer - a dial face with Tamora 4.3 on it would be pretty cool, I think.

(I would have to get someone to install it all for me, though - I have a history with borking even the most simple jobs on my Tam....)

Chris - wow this will be some car when done, the best Tamora in the country? (Probably had the most cash invested in it).
I need to get mine out more, probably only done 100 miles since September. Have serious considered selling lately ...

Cheers! smile

Although I think I would have a way to go to make it the best - there are quite a few Tamora's out there that have had some superb work and upgrades done.

All I want is for my Tamora to be perfect for me. I sold my first, I won't make that mistake again while I am working..

I haven't used my Tam since about October, too. It's been undercover in the garage, plugged into its battery conditioner life support. As I work from home, the car is mainly on the nice days and driven strictly for fun.

Hey gary, you still enjoying your 4.5 upgrade? Your T-350 must really fly!

Wish I had booked the car in earlier - every day now seems like a year! hehe

When I first bought the car, I did have every intention of having the 4.3 upgrade first. However, the engine was (and still is, TBH) running quite sweet, so I thought I'd sort out that awful cheap and nasty 'Bison' interior and other aesthetic issues first. I had the Nitrons fitted at the same time, and a while after, I had the Quaife LSD fitted and throttle bodies re-bushed at Power.

After the 4.3, I would have spent a lot more on upgrades/getting it right than the initial cost of the car - but I knew this when I bought it, so no big surprise - all part of the fun!

I think I will will have to up the value on my insurance when renewed....
