I'm not sure that the current owner of that prototype Sag would appreciate you referring to her like that. evil

Seems the general consensus is that I'd be better off sticking to plan A and buying a sorted T350 rather than a cat-d Sagaris... if both are going to start appreciating soon, I know which will be easier to shift once that time comes!

With the Sag dream still alive in my silly little head... anyone know this car or seen it around?
http://www.classic-auctions.com/Auctions/19-04-201...
Very recently I was in the exact same position as yourself. Having had a T350 before, when really I wanted to own a Sag, the choice for me was simple... All I had to do was wait for a Sag to become available that was within my budget.
So ask yourself which one you really want to have on your driveway and go for that. As you are not in a rush, wait and go for the one you want.
But, as mentioned before, YOU WILL SPEND MORE MONEY, whichever one you go for smile Just keep that in mind!
Assuming you go for the Sag, and for whatever reason after x-time you have to sell it, with the difference in price between the T350 and Sag you will probably still be ably to buy a really good T350 and have some money to spare.
If you will make money on the Sag or break even, no one knows and everyone's guess is as good as yours. But, to an extent it will depend on how much you spend on it afterwards and what 'upgrades' you go for, if any.

Sir, does that black T350t listed on your page have a black interior? Where on earth did you find it / when did you buy it!? You'd be surprised how few black/black targa's come up... been looking for a while now as this is my preferred combination!

The pee green Sagaris idea, although tempting in a kind of "the daddy of all TVR's" way still hasn't put me off my original search for a t350c/t. It's the car I've had on my desktop back ground for a few years now and its the one I go look at at shows before I wonder over to look at a Sagaris and go 'woahhhh, one day'.

And I think that's exactly it. If a bargain Sag came up, I wouldn't say no. But for the moment I best keep searching for a sorted t350 (hopefully by the summer as missed out on last summer!). I think if the pee green Sag had not been a cat-d I would have gone for it (yes I know it would have sold in seconds if it was clean). But as it stands, its not selling for a reason and whoever buys it will have a blast but will always know (and be known) for buying the 'cheap' Sag. Plus the re-sell issues are not something I want to be bothered with.

Hmmmm... accountant will be relieved! Bank manager less so wink

It does indeed! Black with white inserts biggrin
I also spent ages looking for one and then when this one came up, though not in perfect condition, I couldn't resist. It was a private sale from a guy in London. I bought it end of 2010 & my plan was to gradually sort it all out.

Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't do this again. If you really want a black on black one, look out for one in good mechanical condition, that already has most upgrades and has been looked after, and over time have it re-painted and re-trimmed. Chances of finding one of those AND it being in good nick are quite slim.

Good luck!

Totally agree.
I had no idea before hand that it was so easy / common to do this...
AOK - Top tip from Mindstar, this.

PS Black11s... which one did you buy? I probably went to see it if was dark coloured and in the SE!
I bought a Titan Silver(?) one with cream/grey inside from a guy up in Manchester. (It was on PetrolHeads)
It's very nice, and he had looked after it reasonably well, but clearly wasn't a "proper" petrol head.
I bought a warranty for it, as I had a feeling it may have a few issues... and it's going in for it's first session tomorrow. Hopefully they will cover a fair bit of it.
I'll let you know if it was a wise investment or not (the warranty).

Sports cans also going on tomorrow, which should further upset the neighbours.

I don't quite understand the need for more power/torque etc when you still run smaller tyres than most hothatches. They are already a car that will hit 100mph in sub 10seconds and get from 80-100mph in around 2. Thats plenty fast enough for a sports car surely.

I think your safe with either both will hold money but I expect T350's to increase more over the next year now they have the room to do so. About 25k for a average one and 30plus for something a little special. I don't see how they can drop when there is nothing quite like them.

To be honest, an MX5 is probably "fast enough".

However, I don't think I'm alone in saying that its almost impossible to have enough.
(They put out a version of the Veyron with an extra few hundred horses didn't they?)
I must say, having drivien the FFF Tuscan at Racing Green, the extra power is very addictive... Its smoother, less rattly, faster and even returns better mpg - they can squeeze close to 100 miles more out of a tank (which I presume is the same size?)

Guys can someone put me straight please.

My issue is that... here I am still totally smitten at the idea of owning THAT Sag. Target have sent me copies of the autolign report, the hpi and the log book. He has also sent more detailed photos and the car looks immaculate. Even checked insurance and all is A OK (cheaper than a T350c strangely).
Someone here mentioned they had pre-repair photos? If anyone has anything of that sort, could they PM me please? It's getting close now, and I even have this weekend free (and the ferries aren't too expensive)... oh jesus christ

It's all yours for the taking Rodney smile

I was kindly sent photos and an informal repair report (thank you guys) and it appears worse than I thought.. I was expecting it to have only really been in one area on the car and not to have affected any more than the bodywork and some running gear, but its evident the engine and chassis were severely compromised in the accident too, and my understanding is the repair work was 'fair' but corners were cut. Having seen a few write-off's in the past, I'm really surprised it wasn't a Cat-C actually!

Yes it would be a bargain Sag and someone's going to love it, but my head is taking over and it's quickly becoming apparent i should keep my money stowed for a nice T350t and accept that I'm not financially fortunate enough to get away with a clean Sag!

I do WONDER if it will sell though. For those interested I was going to go in at £31k.

If it could be bought for 31k it would make a reasonable buy IMO.. but, personally I would never buy a Cat registered car.. well unless it was a 993 GT2 for 50k!smile

I still hope to buy the Sag I've been set on for the last month!

Pretty sure they raised the price on that green Sag from £35k - 37.5 recently??
