frown Am sure we'll bump into each other at some point - I plan to be using my Tam a lot once I get her back.

Regarding the hoses - I don't know! Before deciding on Dom, I did read and go through every single thread about engine upgrades. In fact, it was Dom's 4.3 that made me decide to go for another Tamora instead of a Z4M or GD Cobra with LS3 engine - before looking into it, I hadn't realised just how vibrant the TVR scene was concerning parts and upgrades and making the S6 better than new.

I have to concede that, after reading the many hundreds of threads and posts about the upgrades (and I have read every single one from 2007 onwards), I don't ever recall silicon hoses being mentioned at all in any adverse way. Most use the ACT hoses and a lot have used the Aaron radiator, with many changing the rad themselves without issue. I thought I had made wise choices based on all the information and feedback I had read, and never thought for a second that there'd be a problem. and why would I, it's never been mentioned before.

With hindsight, perhaps I should have asked Dom before buying the parts, but as I said, there is no history at all regarding problems with these parts being fitted, so it never even entered my mind to ask - I assumed it was a given that they are quality parts!

Just did a search for silicon hoses on Powers' website, came up with nothing. I then went through the entire 27 page Tamora product listings, and no silicon coolant hoses are there! There are various oil hoses, braided hoses, but no Powers stamped silicon hoses.

If they were there, I probably would have bought them when I bought the clutch, flywheel amd slave cylinder package last year.

ETA - Ah, found them in the 'Kits and Upgrades category

http://www.powersperformance.co.uk/store/slug/powe...

They seem to be for the Tuscan and Sag..

But as per my comment on the last page where does it state this in the warranty?
If it hasn't been for this thread I'd have unwittingly voided my warranty.
I'm more than happy to stick to certain conditions but it's great to know what they are from the off.

Cheers smile - but I am on the South Wales border, and before picking it up I have to do a bank transfer, with no online banking, my wife will have to do it in Gloucester.

I know, perfect day!

The final invoice was right on the button, by the way - no nasty surprises, so am very happy with that.

Yep, great news all-round. Wednesday can't come soon enough!

For me, now, the important thing is that I have a fast, reliable S6 engine, and I now can go and drive it without worrying (after the run-in period, of course..)

Now, I will need to sort my insurance out, still valued at £16k! Any recommendations?

I increased the value of mine on the insurance and it didn't change the cost. I will increase it again when I get the cosmetics sorted. I bet you cant wait Chris. Just in time for the sun to start coming out smile
smile I will ring up my insurance company tomorrow and see what they say, once I have a value figure off Dom.

there have been so many times over the past year or so when I have wanted to contact you for a drive in your 4.3 - but I know myself too well, if I did, then nothing else would have mattered, I would have wanted that 4.3 there and then!

Once I have recovered from this outlay, I will have the big bore exhust system and my new Tuscan S cats fitted (The cats should fit, shouldn't they)?

I asked Dom, he said I should insure the car for £24k minimum.

Nice and sunny today, sigh.....

Personally Chris I'd say more than that given the work you've had done. Whats the price of a good Tam? About 20k plus? Add in the 4.3 I'd say an agreed value of at least 28. The whole point of an agreed value is to get you in the position you were in prior to an event happening. It's not always reflective of a cars market value.
There are many of us on here with agreed value policies (mines with Manning) and they are definitely worth happening as otherwise an insurer would base any payout on a standard car with no reflection on the actual work done.
You're right, when I think of the amount of money I've spent on this since I bought it, it's quite scary! Spent way more on sorting the car than the actual purchase price...

Still can't help thinking that that CF airbox would finish off my engine bay perfectly...Must resist, lest my wife kills me...

Dom must be having a bad day that's miles out look at this Tamora with standard engine you need to up to at least £28,000

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/t...

Ask him to think again as you think its on the low side
Yeah, I saw that Tam, and it's got 9k miles more on the clock than mine! And it doesn't have super value part sprayed callipers like mine!

I think that Dom just doesn't like me anymore.... hehe

Thank's chaps!

Sunny, too! I have to go into work with my wife in Gloucester, get a hire car and then off to Coventry - should be there around 1-ish.

I texted my dad to ask if he wants me to pick him up on the way to come with me, but declined - I think he thinks I'll drive like a nutter! In reality, I'll be driving like Miss Daisy!

ETA - he's decided he wants to come now... hehe

Am home! Left at 9.00 this morning!

Picked my dad up in Redditch and arrived there around midday. Spent about half an hour there, going over everything with Dom, and I have my warranty and car valuation letter (£29,999). Looked at the engine bay - wow! What a difference, it all looks so great.

The engine was very 'lumpy' when heading off, but as I did another 50 or so miles, it became a lot smoother - before, I could hear all the engine components making a racket, as if they are all trying to fight each other. Now, everything sounds so much better and all seem to be working in concert with each other.

The hardest part - keeping it below 3k revs! I can just sense that that the engine will go ballistic past 4k, by the way it spools ups to 3k. At the moment, it is difficult to discern the performance difference to my 3.6, I have to admit, apart from more torque - but I haven't really let rip, and I can't for another 900 miles. The revs still rise very quickly, so I can't imagine what it'll be like when it's loosened up! I thought it may be a more slower revving, slightly more lazy engine, but it isn't.

No brown trouser moments – but I’m not sure if that was my ‘Driving Miss Daisy’ style or the Quaife diff. The new AP twin plate clutch is fine - marginally heavier than the original, but not by much, and still easier to press than the clutch on our Cooper S!

I think my dad really enjoyed the trip, he couldn’t believe the amount of people smiling and putting their thumbs up as we drove past! (Although he did say the Fiesta hire car was more comfortable and less noisy..lol)

Apparently, my original cats are in perfect condition, so the new OEM Tuscan S cats were not put on, so I may save them or sell them…

The Tam needs a good wash, now....

ETA - Part of the reason for having this upgrade is that now, I know the history of this car and all of its major mechanical componants - I no longer have to worry or have that nagging doubt harboured at the back of my mind that the car may have been abused in the past - it just doesn't matter now. I know that I will not abuse it (miss/skimp on parts/servicing) and it will be looked after - almost like an old new car! hehe

Thank you!

My problem now is that I have so much work to do, so no chance to drive it during the week. I asked my wife if she wanted to use it for getting to and from work (as she rarely goes above 3k revs at the best of times!), but now she said she's too scared to drive it because of the cost, and too worried about pranging it, after sepending all of that money!

I will get some new tyres sorted for when it has its run-in service, I think May would be a good time, as that would coincide with the MOT. New tyres, a full geo, suspension raised slighly and perhaps those bigger brake discs.

Ater that, I guess the only other 'performance' upgrade would be the CR box - and that lovely CF airbox for that icing on the cake engine bay aesthetic..

However, that's all in the future - for now, I have some new French doors to pay for.....and a car to enjoy..

All the best, been a great story to follow.
Thank you! It has been both very exciting and scary at the same time - I have never spent so much on an upgrade to an existing car, and a 13 year old car at that!

I found it was OK thinking/dreaming about it, but when I think of how much it all costs…..I don’t care! hehe

Forgot to ask Dom if the car is dyno'd when it has it's post run-in service - anyone had this?
