Looking to change from Elise to Tamora, don't want to get into a debate about S6 engines as it's been done to death, just want to know how much you good people are paying for a warranty and with whom to cover major failures or do you just risk it?

My Autoprotect warranty cost me a tad under a grand and lasts for 2 years with max claims limit equal to the value of the car. But it is only a mechanical breakage warranty so a component has to actually break to be covered. If the component wears out then it is not covered. So far it has covered a new radiator, repair to the speedo and a replacement brake caliper. However it did not cover my engine re-build as that was deemed to be a wear issue in the oil pump. Some you win, some you don't.

I took mine out with Castle TVR and in the first 48 hours the big end went. The warrenty company didn't pay but Castle covered the repairs.

I paid £1500 for both the wear and tear and parts but that is only for 12 months!

I did get a rebuilt car for that though?
