Hi you Sag owners,
have seen a few pics of Sags (but not one in the flesh yet in order to examine it), with the upper (ie. nearer to the windscreen) of the two bonnet slats adjusted to a more extreme angle.
I like that look! Mine is only fractionally raked, more similar to the general bonnet line. I took it off and had a look the other day but there doesn't seem to be any easy way of making the adjustment for a steeper angle, without effectively adjusting the holding pin so that it would ride 'on top' of the slat itself, clearly visible from the outside....
has anyone on here made this adjustment? got any pics of it close-up? doesn't the bolt damage the paint on top of the slat?
any input welcome cheers ears DR

I will need to take a pic from the inside but you just unscrew it then drill straight through both in the place you want it to be at the angle you want it to be. I ended up putting two screws in mine to make it stronger.

here are two pics, one from the side and one from above. All my slats are cutout though not just the service bonnet ajusted. You can see from the Sag next to mine he does not have his adjusted

I need to get round to adjusting my slat too - it looks miles better and gives more cooling. WORD OF WARNING - when you increase the rake on that 2nd slat, it will be more prone to stone chips due to the increased angle. I'd want mine armourfending first. As Blackie Paul has said, really simple to do with a drill and a couple of self tappers.

Adjusting the slat to a steeper angle will help reduce the small bonnet lifting at high speed (if your car suffers from this). This is (was) an “official TVR modification” explained to me by NS himself when I bumped into him at the old Chiswick showroom and complained about the problem.

Thinking about this myself but first of all i am getting a bracket made up which i saw fitted on another Sag which holds the central part of the bonnet down tight! Hopefully I am meeting him again this Sunday to see how we can progress things as i do not like the movement on the bonnet at high speeds.

Nice, I like the more aggressive angle too, I will have a look next time I lift the lid, whilst admiring the sag I have often thought a little more angle is needed on the top slat and after seeing that pick I am now convinced

Well, regardless of my post on this subject a couple of days ago, I decided to bite the bullet and go for it. And then I hit an issue I could do with some help from someone with prior experience please? Please see below the MAXIMUM I can open my rear slat - before and after: The reason I cannot open the slat any more is that it would foul the tall ally cylindrical tank (cooling system swirl pot???) in the middle of the engine bay. I could start cutting and filing the underside of the rear slat to give me more clearance but I don't want to bugger my paintwork up as its very expensive paint! Whats everyone else done please?

Hi Lee, Yours being a later car like mine has a complete different bonnet, so the service bonnet sits different, so thats the best you can do, unless you carve the service bonnet flap. G

Mine is the same, you can only go a certain amount and then you hot the swirl pot. Thanks for the replies guys. I'm slightly confused about the later bonnet as mine is a farly early car (July 2005 I think). I don't fancy cutting my slat to pieces to open it up more so I'll stick with the angle I have and get the drill out later

That looks great - can remember when it was up for sale on here. Was always amazed how long it took to sell. FrankS. said: Sure here we go.

Is it DJC's old one? The one from the Evo test vs the Marcos?
