Is everyone running these using 225/40x18 on the front and if so are the clearances ok?

Im not running R888's but i have the Pirelli equivalent's and they are 225/40/18. I had some lock stops put on to ensure they didn't rub the wishbones and they have occasionally rubbed the arch when the suspension was fully compressed..but my suspension is partly to do with that as it could do with a change.

225/40's will fit, I had them to start with a few years ago. Back was ok up to 245's, beyond that it fouled the wheelarch lip. You're right to ask 'cos compared to other tyres they have a much squarer shoulder, which sticks out causing clearance problems on many cars. Only issue I had was the shoulder rubbed the back of the headlight cover at front of inner wheelarch, on the offside only on full left lock, so I remodelled it slightly. I set them with more negative camber which the R888's do need - at least 2 degrees. Without this I think they would have fouled the rather wide wheelarch lip. I now run 235/40's but they fouled the wheelarch lip even with neg. camber so I had to cut out the inside of it and re-fibreglass it. The wheelarch sits further out on the nearside so no probs - TVR's don't you love 'em!
