Thinking of getting a T350
Discussion
Road tax is £190 for a year. MPG I really don't record I just drive mine and fuel it when necessary! There was a post on here recently though with others MPG's. Do it! Buy one, cherish it and use it as Trevor originally intended you won't be disappointed! Look at as many as you can and get a feel for what you're looking for. There weren't many made so it's not as easy as run of the mill cars. Go on condition more than anything though.

Can anyone tell me what sort of mpg and what car tax band a T350 falls into? I don't wan't to have a shock after I buy one! Have any of you T350 owners been dissapointed with anything, or is there anything I should look out for?
Thanks Gordon
I get between 20 and 26mpg, but it really depends where I'm going and how urgent it is! Could probably get a lot lower if I tried! Tax band is the cheap £185 one. Thanks Gordon
You should look out for one with good history, and in your favourite colour. And hurry!
Hi, MPG around 20/22mpg...less when giving it some. Long runs I've seen 26/28. I've just taxed mine and its lower than my wifes BMW 525D....A low £190 a year. Makes me smile everytime I say it.
The only thing for me is that the seats do not hold you in place...in fact they are shockingly bad if you are not a major pie eater. They are comfy but as soon as you press on they just have terrible support and I find myself sliding all over the place..Harness or seat replacement needed.
Other than that..ITS FANTASTIC.

Just for the record on MPG, I drove from Huddersfield to Harwich but could only do a max. of 50Mph due to my wife following me in the estate with a trailor, I was suprised how slow the fuel was being used up so decided to work out the MPG for the trip and it was 30.5 Mpg !!! Don't think I will ever get that again

We are pleasently suprised at how good the fuel consumption is, there is no MPG read out in the car for some reason but we are estimating high 20’s low 30’s on runs out. I suppose its due to the lack of weight as to why its pretty good.
You're lucky - a steady 160 mile run at the weekend (all dual/m-way) at 80-85 gave me 25.6mpg.On average with a bit of mixed driving I get 20-22mpg.

I wonder why its so different, we easily get 25mpg everytime, but thats pottering around. I don't know if the different gear boxes and diffs make a differance? On average with a bit of mixed driving I get 20-22mpg.

If i didn't already have a T350 of my own, i'd buy this one!
I know this car well and it's gorgeous, been well looked after and is a good example of an unmolested car.

Thats stunning! Thr first 350 I looked at last year was an 05 plate coupe in that colour! From a distance it looked the nuts, shame that upon closer inspection it turned out to be a dog. If only this one had been for sale at the time....I know this car well and it's gorgeous, been well looked after and is a good example of an unmolested car.

I took a T350T to Spa in 2004. We only saw one other TVR, another T350T. Chatting to the owner about problems we'd had and he'd experienced the same. They were:
Chrome surround to fuel cap fell off. In discussions with the crew at Blackpool they said that it was because they were given petrol soluble adhesive. This was later rectified.
The air-con, needed as the cockpit got quite hot, deposited ice-cold water in the lap of the passenger on fast right-hand bends. Not funny. This evidently was fixed eventually but I still remember the look I got walking into a petrol station with a big wet stain around my goolies.
If the seats were pushed all the way back they fouled the roll hoop. This had been dealt with by the other chap by sticking carpet on the side of the seat. I do not know if this was ever fixed.
Room for one passport in the glove locker and then it was full. That said, more room than in a Chim.
The petrol filler would not take a full flow of fuel. Never fixed although the Sagaris did not suffer the same problem.
The car was a delight to drive and ride in. We came back from Spa to Brighton in one journey with the only stop was when we were put on and off the train for the tunnel. Yet I felt quite relaxed. A brilliant long-distance tourer.
Road holding was excellent and grip just went on and on. My driver misjudged a right had corner and the car took it as if it was all but straight.
There is a road between Germany and Belgium that has not been surfaced on the Belgium side since the Germans invaded in 1939. A subtle hint I feel. The T350T made a real hash of it.
It was a bit juicy but then we were doing 130mph - if we'd got pulled we were going to suggest that we were confused by metrication. At that speed it was cruising.
The holes were a bit noisy at speed. I didn't really see the point. If you wanted to be buffeted at speed you could open the windows. If you wanted a convertible it was a poor substitute and the Tamora was available.
Neither of us liked the contra-rotating dials.
Whilst this sounds rather critical of the car I have to say that it won me over: big time. It did everything so well. A stunning car. One of Wheeler's best. I love the looks, very reminiscent of the M-Type, the archetypal TVR. I only wish I could afford one. The engine/gearbox/steering/road holding/grip/ride/comfort and everything else apart from the bits mentioned were spot on.
