V12V Carbon Fibre Roof "Wrap"
Discussion
After being really stuck by this post at the back end of last year I have kept it in the back of my mind. When the thread was posted I had a Meteorite V12V so although I loved the CF roof at the time I didn’t take things any further. Roll on 10 months and I have ended up the proud owner of a brand new Morning Frost V12V which 3 weeks into ownership I love to pieces more than ever. Since purchse my memory has kept leaping back to the video of the Morning Frost V12V in Japan with the CF/black roof as above.

Anyway I called a recommended local car wrapping specialist today www.totally-dynamic.co.uk and to my pleasant surprise they quoted only £250 inc VAT for a 3M carbon fibre wrap to cover my roof just like in the video clip. They have lots of weave patterns and finishes and promised to be able to match the Aston Carbon Fibre existing trim exactly. They also offered a free "try before you buy" temporary wrap made from off-cuts, so it seems like it might be worth a punt.
Don't get me wrong I love my new car as it is, but I can’t help feeling the draw to try out a CF effect roof for just £250! I am however a tad worried that George has started to rub off on me and I am now thinking it might look a bit OTT, but then with the try before you buy it seems like a no-loss situation, plus its only £250 - just the price of a T-Shirt at Harvey Nic’s these days!
Given that the majority of people voted "I love it" I’m minded to give it a whirl next week...
Thoughts?
I already know what George will say on this question, so he can excuse himself from this thread!

You know I only posted this thread so that we could stop agreeing on everything
Don't do it though! I think I'd rather spend £250 on a dose of diphtheria than a carbon fibre effect roof! It sounds like it would be more suited to a Vauxhall Corsa than an Aston!!
Sounds like a deal to me! I might start a collection...

Hmmm, now the temption stakes are raised even higher! Just £500 for both a CF roof and a dose of diptheria for George!

I'm sure there would be plenty of donations.Sounds like a deal to me! I might start a collection...
Why not just go for a gloss black roof? That I would have no issue with I think carbon fibre has its place in structural and weight saving roles, for visual effect I don't agree with it. All the carbon fibre airframe or F1 components I've seen look nothing like the tarted up bling bits bolted to cars nowadays. At least if you do go through with it, it can easily be put back to standard

Its a fair call, and I think the roof in the video is black not CF... I just wonder if CF would match better than gloss black would - there isnt anything else on the external facia of the car that is gloss black really?CF roof looks rather cool on an E92 M3 in Mineral White (very similar to Morning Frost)

If it isn't real CF, then it does NOT belong on a car the caliber of an Aston.
Dont worry I wont be pretending to anybody that its real CF on the roof - I just think it might look nice. I think a real CF roof conversion would rapidly rule me out of the equation. Id much rather spend that money with Bamford Mike.George H said:

I'm going to go with George. I think a gloss black roof would look much nicer than a carbon effect one.
