Just a quickie if you please……..Burghley.
Discussion
As many already know I'm running Burghley again for next JULY the 3rd.
So this is just a heads up as so many of you stayed in the George Hotel last time I thought
I'd better mention the fact that they are already receiving bookings on a regular basis now…………..
Not wanting you to miss out on the best place to stay for the party I thought it best to give you a shout…..
PH allowing I will update everyone regarding this event a bit further down the line with a dedicated thread or sticky but only after permission to post has been received.
How ever if you want to register or know more at this stage just send me a pm please.

Thanks for the enthusiasm guys.
Rich,
The George has ample parking and like last time I will be speaking with them to replicate our previous arrangement
where they cordoned off their top Car Park for our private use.
Their Car Park is usually manned but has camera's as well I believe, they also have a barrier.
Hope that helps…….

Hi BigMig.,
I haven't yet applied officially to PH for approval to fully expand on what our Burghley Event is but I will sort that shortly……..as I'm playing by the rules……..
I wasn't going to over rev it up this early, but as the George Hotel is filling fast for this Event which takes place on the 3rd of July 2016 at Burghley House at Stamford (PE9 3JY) I thought
I'd post a heads up for those wishing to get a room at this loverly Hotel.
I will seek full permission tomorrow from PH time permitting which will allow me I'm sure to explain in depth about what you won't want to miss.
I'm sure this small post today will be left in place by the Mod's to help the newer members of the forum though……..
Simply stick Burghley in the search bar and you should find out plenty along with plenty of pictures of our last friendly gathering that raised £11,132.20 for charity.
You should find a few snaps here as well www.skwimages.com
Go to Motorsport and Burghley is top left………….well it was last time I looked.
I'm sure a few others who were part of the 246 Aston's that attended last time will offer their views and thoughts on the event to assist further.

Good to see so many so keen so early in proceedings, especially as this was just a heads up about hotel rooms……..
I'll start a sticky when I get the relevant PH permission for registration as I'm struggling to get hold of the main man.
By the way as of 2.30 pm this afternoon the George Hotel of Stamford had the following available.
4, Standards Double rooms.
6, Classic double rooms.
2, Junior Suites.
1, 4 Poster Suite.
3, Single rooms.
So don't be slow if you want pampering in the George as those figures are from the horses mouth………..

Memories from last year all good. A lot to live up to Ed but I'm sure you can pull it off.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f7dpBPxicPQ Sorry for videoing with phone in portrait but I think you get the idea.
I trust you'll be on parade Pete.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f7dpBPxicPQ Sorry for videoing with phone in portrait but I think you get the idea.
I don't know about anyone else but I got a shiver down my spine on watching that clip, the noise and nostalgia you just can't beat it plus a posh field full of Aston's.
Some great pictures now popping up on here so why don't we find a few more to show the newer members of the forum what they can expect and in doing
so encourage them to sign up for the fun.
Come on its going to be crazy……...
Great news there in a couple of posts, firstly I'm pleased you got in at the George Steve,I'll see you in there.
Secondly, I'm pleased the event pushed you over the line into ownership Quarterly and I hope to see you on parade with your Aston in July.
Funnily Burghley inspired several people into making strides into Aston ownership as another chap came forward at the event and before you knew it
we had him switched from a staunch Jag man of many a year into a Newbie Astoneer……..
So next July he's displaying his lovely Red DB9 coupe.
Don't be shy remember Burghley's for you and is a case of the more the merrier……...

People arrive in town and get ready to party from the Friday afternoon onwards simply because they can't wait any longer for the main event……..
Hopefully, as we are currently looking at putting on a Pre Event for you all to enjoy if you choose on the Saturday and possibly a group meal on the Saturday night.
I'm not promising to organise the Group meal bit as frankly it was scary last time to sort and very, very time consuming, that said we will see.
Volunteer's welcomed for that one………….
Also people arrive so they have time to enjoy Stamford itself, some of the guys will be off to the Bespoke Tailors to order hand made shirts etc whilst others
enjoy the Antique Shops or simply the old'e world Pubs that are throughout the town.
There's plenty on offer whether you come on a Friday or just the for main event on the Sunday but the main thing is that everyones welcome………..

So, um, what is the "main event"? Is it standing in a field looking at cars that all look the same?
Its a gathering of owners and enthusiasts that enjoy the surroundings of a loverly setting with the backdrop of assorted related companies that give their time to come alongto show case their companies and cars,by doing so helping raise a few bob for charity.
Its a friendly and welcoming event that caters for all era's of Aston Martins whether it's pre war or the latest from the line at Gaydon and I''m sure it further encourages people into
the brand and/or to update their current models thus hopefully helping to secure the Company going forward.
Please feel free to join us and enjoy a pleasant day or long weekend amongst some fantastic cars and brilliant and enthusiastic owners…….
But in a nut shell its some posh cars in a posh field with a begging bowl pending your mind set…..
I've briefly spoken with the George about a group meal again, although at this stage I'm unsure that I would have the time to organise it as it was just so time consuming with everything else going on last time.
Their response was that they can seat 70,which is the limit into the Oak Panelled dining room.
But to have that looked into we would need to have all 70 covers as residents in the Hotel.
With that statement in mind that would rule out others from near by Hotels who like last time might have enjoyed joining in,it would also mean no Roast Beef for this little Piggy
who lives down the road…….
I'll have another go at them next week to see if common ground and sense can be found.
Also at this time I know of 28 rooms being booked out of their 47 the Hotel offers so somewhere along the line I've missed or not been notified who's booked the George.
So if you've booked the George and not mentioned it on here I won't have picked up on it …...nor will the George won't give names of course.
So if you have booked please let me know as 28 rooms makes 56 covers so we are not far off being in a good bargaining position to take on the Oak
Panelled jobbie in its entirety……...
Let me know by pm, especially if you don't want your wife knowing you've booked a double room or your taking the secretary……………,then I'll speak with them again to see
what they can do…...

A little up date for a Saturday evening.
We've got one fine fellow already registered with me from the other channel that is displaying 3 of his cars……..
Then there's several like Ian,Nick and Rich working on the logistic's of displaying two, so it's all going in the right direction.
Steve knows we'll all look after him and that he'll be well received by us all,so a big well done to Steve who I'm sure all of us are looking forward to meeting….
On yet another positive point for this Saturday evening I can let slip that we will be in fine company as Andy Palmer has this week signed up with me to join us as well……...
Not bad for a few cars that all look the same in a field……
Kudos to you all for the support so far,get behind it and spread the word please as after all it's your event…...

Making no promises at this stage about a group meal as yet but I have Rosie on the case for us at the George.
I will report back hopefully in the positive when she get's back to me later in the week.
Christ there's a lot of you in there when I start counting up………..
One positive is that she's readily agreed to sort out secure parking for the Aston Martins again as before……….

The group meal will be a goer………………
The George have agreed to sign over the Oak Panelled Dining room for our sole use for our meal on the Saturday night of the 2nd of July.………...
At this stage please give me breathing space and I will endeavour to put up a separate thread for this meal to keep it in one place and so we all know who's booked to go.
Any one that is booked to stay with the George gets first refusal obviously and if there's room Eleanor and I would like to join in too.
Keep your eye out for the new post later in the week which will tell all………..

I've noted from this thread and from receiving pm's who is staying in the George, but if anyones looking in that has
booked the George but as yet not mentioned it too me could you please identify yourselves for planning purposes for the dinner
if you potentially want to be involved.
It will be first come first served from the residential front as we have basically filled the place.
Act now rather than be left moaning later………...
