Would make a pleasant surprise if they weren't....mind you I enjoy the page of ranting and mind boggling statements about their various work , not forgetting the followers...who I've heard on the grapevine are chipping in and buying a compound with house and garage near a place called Waco.....;)hehe

This forum is losing its self, losing its identity and friendliness fast IMO,there will come a point were contributing anything will just result
in the post being shoot down by the few that seem to think that they have taken over the Asylum.

A group hug is very much needed to get everyone back on line and those with inflated Ego's should just calm down a bit and remember this
is and was meant to be a friendly place,a place to enjoy quick wit and banter,to share problems and offer assistance to other AM owners and
to certainly welcome and encourage newbie's onboard to further enhance the group.

Over the last few months the moderator has pulled far to many threads away from hear, some of delicate nature maybe, some others of amore sinister intent,
this can't reflect well with PH or with people looking in,let alone the usual suspects that get embroiled.

Embroiled is harsh but just make your point if you feel it necessary, then try and chill and consider other people's opinion.......rightly or wrongly everyone does
get an opinion. When things get out of hand you must admit it does reflect over the whole forum and puts a downer on proceedings,so if your going to dig in
maybe also consider a PM to make your point clear and leave some of the mud off the forum.

I've read more alarming things lately than I care to list but I don't think it does anyone any good including Individuals and Businesses when the mud starts to get
smeared so maybe its time to chill a little and accept we are all different people with a common interest so should we poke fun at a miss spelt comment or point out
some ones poor Grammar.

Many on here know each other but the planet is a big place so may contributors don't always get the banter and at times I sense find themselves lost or even isolated
in the crossfire of others and sadly find themselves back as lurkers rather than active posters.

People are all different and see situations in different ways that is for sure and from where I'm sitting a lot of people are currently holding back their own involvement
in posting as they don't like the undertone or possible confrontation that has IMO crept in at times.

This forum is not just about BR and what the BR faithful think and as I saw on someones post about my cars better than yours cus its 40 bhp more etc etc etc,its about
so much more like life it's self so come on Guys lets lighten up a little and rejoice in our chosen brand .

This forum is not just about some ones ability to spell or in my case not spell, its much more than that it's about different people from different backgrounds, walks of life
and professions that have been so lucky to be in a position to cherish the ownership of such a lovely motor car.

This forum is not just about a minority groups say,its about the bigger picture and about other peoples posts whether they are all positive or sadly negative, even in my on going
case I appeared to be shot down by a certain party as my frustrated comments where deemed bad for AM.

This forum is not just about the Cars its about people, building friendships and sharing experiences based around a mode of transport at the end of the day,a mode of transport
we should feel lucky to be in a position to own, discuss and most importantly enjoy.

All this current underflow and sniping has I must admit put me off any general contribution to threads other than to the 3 events/trips I am currently managing, which I had hoped
would be the first of many and for the good of all but even my efforts on these have attracted the odd comment of detriment from a certain party.

All I want to do is enjoy my car and for those that are interested I still haven't got back from the dealer on this fix, that a month know away..............But as has been pointed out
by the clique its something I shouldn't be moaning about...............

Its a good job my shoulders are broad and my heart generous as I'm sure some on here would have lost the faith by now.

Lets go the Group Hug way and lighten up please and all enjoy our cars, friendships and camaraderie and get this forum back to the fun place it used to be or I shall have to install
an A and E Department for those that need treatment.

A & E.............A/HOLES AND EGO'S...........hehe

My comments here are not aimed to upset or insult so please don't go off on one they are purely meant to get the fun back into the forum and encourage those back that aren't currently
posting into the fold.

Sorry to plunder your thread OP but I could just see today starting off where yesterday finished and wanted to try and bring things back to a more refreshing, good willed and friendly playground.

A Playground that can be played in nicely without the fear of "Bullying" as one recent poster put as I remember.

So Group Hug please, lots of friendly banter, help and advice and the worlds a better place........biggrin

Please don't crucify me for I know not what I do.........nuts

Lost Bear answers to the name Tony,if found please feed with Bacon Rolls and return to Mummy Bear in Surrey...............thumbup

Yeah, What Ed said.

In the last six months this forum has gone from one of the most friendly and relaxed corners of the internet (admittedly mostly off topic and irrelevant to the supposed subject) to something more like the typical car forum full of egos and infantile bickering.

Blah.

Dawg is just American slang for best pal or close friend , the word crops up frequently in George Pelecanos crime fiction novels. Pelecanos wrote screenplays for " The Wire " as well as many books of the same genre.

Goodness Ed, a lengthy epistle.
I will read all of your thoughts later.

I agree with the opinion, that our standard of debate over the past few months has declined.

The fight with the man from 'the other side' (how is it possible to have a website, without leaving any record of the website address?) was in my opinion understandable, and a very rare situation. The way he came blundering in here. would have caused trouble, whoever did that.

I try to introduce some humour from time to time, and perhaps it might fail. However, someone recently did say that one of my jokes made them laugh, so might continue with occasional Basil Fawlty stuff, until told to stop.

ON TOPIC

John Francis (Ikebaddog) wants an explanation, but it does not appear to have been provided. I do not know what it is all about, except that John states he lives in Kent, and has dog as part of his nickname.

If we are to become good people again, please someone answer John's question properly.

Well done Ed - someone needed to do it.

I have never been a huge contributor to PH but have been doing so less and less recently because I just got fed up of all the bickering. Whilst I have had Astons for 6 years now I only found the Aston forum on PH 2/3 years ago and really enjoyed the friendly banter and knowledgable posts that have helped me learn loads more about the cars that I did before. The atmosphere has definitely changed for the worse and I really hope that Ed's post will help move the forum back to where it was. I can remember the days when I would be chuckling away to myself about how a thread was going and my wife asking me what I was laughing at - that happens very infrequently now frown

Ironically this change seems to have coincided with the increased number of meets that have taken place and people getting to know one another. Whether what comes from this familiarity is the need to defend your 'new' friends if you feel they come under attack I do not know - it may just be a coincidence or it may not.

I have not been able to attend any of the meets so far but will be going along to Ed's one he is arranging in July at Burleigh House and am really looking forward to it. To me one of the great things about owning an Aston is the great friends that I have made through being lucky enough to own such a special car - and that was reflected through the Aston PH forum as well - albeit it less so recently.

The only one's who can change the forum is us. I guess if it continues to progress the way it has in recent months then some of us will need to find somewhere else to go - I think some already have!

I agree with you Ed.
I migrated from the AMOC forum ( nice people but not much banter )as the information on here re Astons was informative and 95% of the banter was good fun.
So lets keep it that way please.
Now about my Ladyboys..........
O.K.ready for group HUG....(in a manly way of course).
