As the GT8 is supposed to be a replica of the GTE, I would want a correct GTE bonnet design.
If you compare the differences, GT8 to GTE, it is just the centre shaped depression that would give a plastics moulder some thought. The additional cost though would be insignificant, on a £200,000 car.

I too thought it was going to be the 7 speed dogleg, so read its the 6 speed manual in the press release... on the bright side, better a 6 speed manual than no manual at all (unlike the bigger brother)!!!
Proper gearbox then, i,m not keen on the dogleg box.AdamV12V said:
Well that would be a deal breaker for me, unless its was the original V12V 6 speed. Personally never got on with the 6spd manual in my V8V. Thinking back I'm now 100% sure I was told it was the 7-speed dogleg in the GT8!
When I put the deposit down in early March I was told was a 7-speed Manual as well but when I saw the car it was presented as 6-speed. With the current level of power it has and the torque I think 6-speed is coherent, though.Which V8V did you have, 4.3 or 4.7, Adam?

4.7 - gearbox is average going forwards and terrible in reverse. The 6speed in the V12V was a quantum step better in every aspect. In fairness some of this is the clutch too, so maybe the GT8 combo will be better than the V8V was.Which V8V did you have, 4.3 or 4.7, Adam?

At Gaydon I discussed this and enquired about whether Q could stick a GTE bonnet on and it was a resounding no because of crash testing/homologation etc.
Oh well, that is different. Most refusals in life blame the data protection act.
After delivery, a capable glass fibre firm can make the bonnet you want. I agree with you, it would look so much better. The four safety clips are common motor racing products.
Your friend could then keep safely the original V8V looking CF bonnet.

Its good to see the seats and dash are all standard ! Where as the outside every thing seems optional.
Mostly all std inside yes, but both seat options are non electric to save weight (meaning they only go forwards and back), and for either Sports or Lightweights the cost is the same, £1495 to get the electric adjustments back. Also the stereo is the outgoing 160W std system, so premium (£1495) or B&O (£5495 + £495 black grilles) are optional, despite Premium now being std on V12VS.Gassing Station | Aston Martin | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
