My view was, I couldn't make it look any worse
As I said before, I didn't expect a factory fresh spray job look...... I just wanted to improve what was there, and prevent it from getting worse.... Which I think I've done, and it hasn't cost an arm and a leg....
Cheeky request but could you post a template of the shark fin please, either put it on a PDF and upload (I could host) or actually post to me (Happy to cover costs)As I said before, I didn't expect a factory fresh spray job look...... Also I recd my kit today so good service from Chipex

I'd be prepared to buy one but Quantum Silver is not on the list and I'm not taking a torq drive to my engine bay...
You don't need to,.... Just ring any AM dealer with the last 6 digits of your chassis number..... Hopefully that won't be to stressful for youRetman said:
Ordered mine on 10th and got email confirmation from Chipex of acceptance but still not received , they may have tried to deliver to work address on Saturday or have miss processed in which case I'll be in the missing 6. Will chase up now and report back.
UPDATE Just spoke with Johnny at Chipex ( nice bloke) my order had got 'stuck in system' and is being sent out tonight so if anyone else hasn't received theirs may be worth a call - order number and their contact details are on the email confirmation you received when order was placed.Had another go this pm with better results. I have found that the stage with the blending solution is key as the lighter I did this, the more the paint stayed in the chip. Common sense I guess but it is tempting to rub slightly too hard when faced with a blob of paint on your Aston
I have also found the smaller chips appear better than the larger ones (on my front valance) so will probably need to give these another go on another day.
It is refreshing to look at the area where you used to have a mark and then struggle to now find it. Therefore at first glance it certainly does the trick.

Just spoke to Johnny at Chipex regarding deeper chips and where it wasn't filling them first time. He suggested to...
- Leave a longer drying time
- Put another layer on when the first one has dried. He explained that the paint can shrink (by up to 30%) so leave it to dry and then re layer.
He also mentioned that it doesnt matter how long you leave it to dry, it can't do any harm
Cheers

Had an email from Chipex saying that the offer 'window' is now open until Sunday 29th May as they have extended the offer to another car group and are using the same offer code.
So if you missed this first time around, there is still time.
I'm giving mine a full detail today - wheels done this morning (clay and coating with Gtechnic wheel armour stuff) and the body this afternoon. When I have clayed and cleansed I will be having another look for any chips before the polish and top coat.
Fingers crossed the weather looks fair.

Hi
just used my kit on onxy black vantage. Overall results
1. easy to use but takes some bravery to smear paint down the flanks!
2. about a 60% improvement in appearance, you have to look closely to see remaining road rash (sorry didn't take any before and after pics)
3. value for money? - yes definitely, thanks to ? for arranging the discount.
4. plenty of paint and polish left but could do with more blend solution- not sure if you can buy this separately?
My tip is to be patient and not apply too much paint at once. best results on road rash on flanks achieved with 2 smears via gloved fingers with blending in between.

Getting low here too...
I think if you go onto the website there is a number to ring for more. Probably worth getting some more brushes too
I inadvertantly left some smeared paint on 2 chips overnight and it was quite tough work getting it off the next day
In my defence the chips were low down on the front valance and in poor light (and my belly probably got in the way)

Hi
I received an email from the chap at Chipex this morning...
"Hi Graham,
I am writing to let you know that our server crashed over the weekend and we are still trying to fix it. I have only just got my email back and running, however cannot access the order system at this time.
I would be grateful if you could let the the PH group know.
Many thanks,
Johnny"

UPDATE
Email from Chipex...
"We managed to get our computer issues resolved on Tuesday morning after being ‘off air’ for 48 hours!
If you were happy to do so I would be most grateful if you could put a post on PH letting people know that the 25% discount offer Is valid until the end of the May Bank holiday and then it will finish.
Best regards,
Johnny"

Ok, I did one side tonight. I did mine using the finger in the paint method and smeared it all over the rash then used the fluid to remove the excess. I did this twice.
Before
After
Now I am sure with more work it will look even better but not bad for 15 mins work and remember I am going to put some of the tape over it.
I must say I am impressed and will worth the £42. A paint shop wanted £350 to do both sides
