[quote=Biggriff]Just mentioned to Mrs BG and she saw the seafood platter at The George so it looks like we are coming as well :-)

Blimey the hotels are booking fast. We are in the Bull & Swan which looks good!

Can't wait. Will be my first Aston event.

BG

You'll not go wrong at the B&S,its just up the hill 400 yards from the George so Mrs BG can still get her Platter.

You'll be another one so close to Burghley House that you'll be able to leave the car at the Pub and walk up,you can't get much closer.............hehe

Are you telling me the George are already fully booked then ???????.

To save any confusion and indeed disappointment I have just spoken with the George.

Their Reservations office is currently closed but will reopen at 9.00 am tomorrow morning,I have just had
confirmation that rooms are still available and they advise ringing to reserve one as their on line facility may
be dysfunctional as the event is almost a year away.

So plenty of room at the Inn for those that fancy the experience and for those undecided do go to their home
page on their website, click on Hotel and click the drop down and take the video tour yes.............all very civilised you know.

Well I hope that helps.............thumbup

Let me know by pm or what ever who has booked the George,if you like I'll look into a private dinning room for the Saturday night
if you all fancy a get together and knees up................let me know party.

Book direct with hotel, seem to be plenty of rooms but they will only accept two night bookings so far in advance so we're in for Sat & Sun. Some of the booking agencies are showing that the hotel is full this is not correct. It's a cracking place and very busy.

There you go Lewis hows that for an Anniversary special weekend and this could well be the ideal place for our
very own George.

I believe they can provide you with your own Private Butler so what better do you want George, year away or not
its got to be one for you to consider.
I will certainly consider it but cannot commit to anything just yet as I'm currently changing contracts at work so I don't know where I will be based... may be Singapore.

I called and left my name for a reservation when they return tomorrow. I was also told that they only accept two night reservations. They did say they have reserved parking for people with sparkly cars so us Ceramic Grey people are sorted biggrin

It would be great if we could all dine in a room together. Seafood platter for me thanks cloud9

I'm sure normality will resume if you contact them tomorrow,as I said earlier in the day theres plenty of rooms left at the Inn.

My Wife seems to think this crafty 2 night booking thing revolves around the amount of bookings that Burghley and other events around
the town give them,we think as its so far in advance they're covering themselves so their not left with empty rooms on the Sunday night.
Also from what I understand from my conversation today is that tariffs and availabilities haven't yet been released for next years calendar,
so you never know they may reduce the tariffs.......hehe

That said its that popular you do right to book now.On the Piss up,sorry I'm mean Dining front I don't mind organising something once
we get some numbers together.

The way I look at that is its just another excuse for me to take the Wife to the Garden Room so that she can witness in horror me shovelling
everything in sight down my fat neck..................BTW the George Sherry Trifle's a blinder.

Again its all a long way off so we'll just have to wait and see how many willing gluttons we have in attendance.

Being a George Garden Room fan myself, I'd like to echoe Ed's words of reassurance that the atmosphere and food are equally enjoyable. The place ouses class, without being too pompous or formal, a perfect mix. The Oak Panelled room is little more formal/expensive it should be said.

So Ed count me and my best mate in if you do decide to hire the private function room for dinner one evening. Oh yes, and well done Ed, I wish I was less busy and could do something to help out, well done mate. bowbow

Topman Jockers,

Thats made my evening clap what a valiant repost after that stunning bombshell followed by your erie silence.

Please note in your short posting absence I have tried to step up to the plate to keep things moving on but
your posting wizardry is hard to follow, but at least its good to know your out there keeping a watchful eye
on our sordid proceedings,a bit like a Dogger in the woods I suppose.

Brilliant news I'll now start collecting straw and willow for my wicker construction that will await your
triumphant return to the field of play..

Excellent on the noshing front as well as it'll give um time to arrange the booster seat..............biglaugh

I bet you've taken the Video tour of the George and seen those Scones haven't you........thats whats swung it...yum

Cheers Phil its genuinely nice to know you'll be back amongst us for the weekend,a weekend which just keeps promising
to get better and better.............................

Now go and sort out Mikey,George,MG,Neil and the rest of them from up your neck of the woods and we'll have a right
old Beano on our hands beer.

All in a days pissing about Bob,all in a days pissing about........

Its a pleasure Bob and let there be many more, like I said on my return to the fold I intend being active for the good of us all and if the
general interest is there and if I don't get on everyones nerves I'm sure I'll have many more events hidden up my ample sleevethumbup.

Mikey K's preference is not for the tyre-kicking events....plus we will probably clash with one of his hoons rolleyes

George is a spotty closet homo who is unable to function amongst those that do not partake in wedgies nono

Mr Gould is good value but he doesn't seem to travel well, though the little st did indeed turn up at my workplace the other day to collect something...in his DB9.....to wind me up shoot

Neil prefers the driveouts and he is one month in Brazil, one month in the UK, so his whereabouts can be an unknown quantity.

You already have V8 PLL smile
