DB9 Wiper Blades

Interesting - I noticed the same after fitting mine last weekend - just a small area the size of the palm of my hand when the car is stationary. Must be a pretty weak spring in the wiper arm.The blade does clean the whole screen when the car is being driven, which I assume is the air flow pushing the blade against the screen.

Gentlemen, I fully share your impression - under the rain the middle of driver-side blade is not pressing down firmly enough to clear all the water away - and, in my opinion, the fault is the weakness of the spring in the wiper arm. The blade does clean the whole screen when the car is being driven, which I assume is the air flow pushing the blade against the screen.
Or maybe the windscreen is slightly concave due to excessive power of that spring for the past years (my car is a DB9 MY 2007), this idea coming from the fact that the "bug" appears in the lower part of the wiper's "trip".
To fit the old wipers back is tempting, at least for the winter period, but ... "Maybe it will reshape in situ ...."
Let's keep informed about.
I have the same issue on the drivers side only??
Has anyone managed to come up with a solution to this? I dont want to bend the arms or do anything that will mean i cannot go back to my original configuration should i decide to!
Its very strange that its only the centre point when the wiper is about 1/2 way through its motion?
Thanks

Perhaps the blade is not flexible enough to follow to the curve of the windscreen.BTW I have now refitted the OEM blades which seem to do a better job.Has anyone managed to come up with a solution to this? Gents,
If you go here and enter OILSPILL30 or test31 you'll get 30% or 31% off. I have no affiliation with eurocarparts other than I bought some wipers from them last week and had speedy service. Make sure you get the correct ones
No idea if this is the cheapest place online but I couldn't be bothered looking too hard. Every little helps, enjoy

As Brakedwell did, I too refitted the old blades: in fact, the Bosch longer one (on the driver side on LHD cars) is evidently - it suffices to look at it - not pressed enough against its center point: one solution might be to force and bend it against its concavity but, for the time being, I refuse. I'll complain with Bosch in due course: it's a pity that we cannot profit of their new blades because the arm spring is not "strong" enough!I understand that Brakedwell had same experience with the Goodyear Assurance ones: am I right?
What is the experience of craig e, who started this thread?
Did anybody experience a different maker such as Valeo?
Thanks for any suggestion
I also tried the Bosch version with the same poor result. I came to the same conclusion that the spring is not strong enough to force the blade onto the glass along its entire length.
I even (very carefully) bent the arm in order to apply move force onto the blade. This was also unsuccessful since the blade's shape still prevents full contact. Given that other peoples experience is the same (even with different brands) I think we can conclude that the issue is primarily caused by the shape of the AM screen.
If someone has found an alternative that works, please let us know.

Can anyone verify if the newer DBS/DB9 flat wiper arms can be mounted on older DB9 models? Has anyone tried this?
V8 Animal converted his Vantage to the later wiper arms, and posted the part numbers.Never seen a posting with DB9 converted, but somebody most have done it.

EDIT: I have tried two sets of Aero-style retrofit blades - both with the same issue as described above.
Gentlemen, EDIT: I have tried two sets of Aero-style retrofit blades - both with the same issue as described above.
here we are with the code numbers for DB9 - LHD car (supplied by AM Luxembourg):
left = CG43 - 17527 - AA (about 150€ VAT excluded)
right = CG43 - 17526 - AA (about 250€ VAT excluded).
Maybe the solution of a "stronger" spring is not bad.
Anybody tried the SWF ones?
Let keep informed.
I decided to raise this with Bosch. To their credit and after a couple of exchanges for more information, I just received the following response:
"The feedback from the wiper blade business unit in Germany is it would seem the arm pressure of your Aston Martin is very low and the better solution would actual be the Bosch standard conventional wiper blades (Super Plus range).
We are launching a new range of Aerotwin Retrofit at the end of the year for commercial vehicles and I have been told these are likely to be more suitable for your car."
So it seems we should wait a few months then buy the new blades

I raised a question a while back on the possible replacement of the wiper arms with the beam MY2012 wiper arms for the DB9. Those of you that have fitted the beam type wiper arms has anybody had any problems with the fitting of them as I was lead to believe by works that it was not possible. As I think this would the solution to my noisy MY2011 ones. Any feed back would be most welcome.

In fact, eventually I bought the standard set of wiper blades, both with spoiler and I'll fit them soon.
Having noted that the OE 20" blade has no spoiler, anybody can tell me if the spoiler may be a problem?
Thanks in advance

so any further update on this valuable topic?
Sorry - forgot.Bosch Aero blades do not work on Aston Martin. They sent a different pair - equally hopeless.
To the credit of Bosch they tried hard - the problem is the wimpy spring AM use to hold the wiper arm against the screen just isn't up to the job.
