V12 Vantage Roadster Confirmed

I'd take a stab at a paddle shift being available along the S lines which sounds sorted, well focused and probably great fun to drive.
I look forward to hearing more about this bit, for me it's now either a V12VR or an SLS Roadster next, but I do like Aston ...I thought it was obviously going to come because, as I said to a salesman on Saturday, there's a massive whole in the market for a flagship Aston convertible after the DBS Volante until the '310' Volante is around.
£150k a great way to loose £2/3k per month , Aston Martin depreciation is eye watering , of all the cars I have owned for a year or so the Aston has bit me the hardest, best trade offer on N420 Roadster £66k , that's a £30k whack in 14 months and only 4ooo miles .not a single private sniff , suppose just too many around at £50k to warrant a newer one.surely a second hand DBS Volante would be a better buy at under £100k ?
Since this info seems "public domain" now, I can share that indeed it is confirmed by AM HQ officials that there will be exactly 100 V12 Vantage Roadsters, with Manual Gearbox and the current (517PS) V12 engine.
Will be a great car imho, and Schmee, I think you will love it! BTW, the AM310 Volante will be there around spring 2014 (but auto box only...)
I will pass since I have my DBS Volante now, but otherwise surely I was tempted!

I thought you were after a DBS volante Tim? I reckon the release of the V12VR and VH310 should be good for prices of 2nd hand DBS volantes, bring them sub £100k I thought it was obviously going to come because, as I said to a salesman on Saturday, there's a massive whole in the market for a flagship Aston convertible after the DBS Volante until the '310' Volante is around.
The SLS Roadster is a great car too, but I suspect they will fall a lot in price if you got one now, big AMG Mercs always do. They're enourmous too, took me a while to realise just how wide they are! Very cramped also for such a big car, roadster isn't as bad as the coupe but still surprising how little space there is. Even the Merc dealer where I had a test drive said to me the SLS has nothing on the Aston

I believe prices/sales of the hardtop SLS have fallen through the floor. One assumes that will happen with the roadster too - it looks overpriced to meThe SLS Roadster is a great car too, but I suspect they will fall a lot in price if you got one now, big AMG Mercs always do. DBS Volantes are starting to look like a lot of car for the money.....

perhaps say by having plaques stating 1/100. It becomes more important on this car because I assume dealers won't give discount on such a low volume product, but if they do then go and produce say 4 or 500 to meet demand, discounts will then become available and I'd be very p***d if I'd paid full sticker price.
Agree with all of that. And am drumming my fingers thinking 'hmm, one of 100'. I like the sound of that...jonby said:

It is overpriced imo, but they have to seperate it from the AMG SLs in some way. Willbe interesting how it copes with the new SL65 AMG being released for less money. The options for it are just ridiculous too, can easily add £40k DBS Volantes are starting to look like a lot of car for the money.....

Agree with all that but they are quite different cars, particularly my favourite topic - gearbox ! However the typical merc buyer may not even test drive them and just assume they are similar cars to drive. In fact the typical SL driver probably wouldn't like an SLS (to drive that is)
Yeah I'll go with that. The SL is much more comfortable than the SLS (or at least the R230 55AMG and my old R230 350 was). What gearbox is in the new SL65? It is the 7G Tronic one, or the 7 speed MCT gearbox?Gassing Station | Aston Martin | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
