1x Registered 10/2006 (56reg) mileage 10,200 with grey leather £41k

1 x Registered 02/2007 (07reg)mileage 12,700 with tan leather £42k

Have arranged test drive on Monday.

What one would be your preference ?
The 07 one. Still a seriously LOW mileage for its age. If anything, a bit too low smile

I lived in Brentwood until 2007 and used Grange - never any issues there, would have no problem in going back

Hi Jockman

Why would seriously low mileage cause concern ?

Excuse my ignorance

Thanks

Nat

No probs Nat - a few other members may indulge you with the facts and figures but the general viewpoint is that these cars need to be driven and driven hard from time to time. Fluids need to flow, brakes need to be used in a spirited manner from time to time and tyres need to turn.

A (too) low mileage example can display all the hallmarks of a garage queen - these need to be checked over just as much as high mileage ones smile

I've seen the following on "low mileage" cars
water in the brake fluid
partially seized calipers
seized handbrakes
perished gaiters on drive shafts
perished tyres with loads of tread
perished suspension bushes
seized caster adjusters
Mouldy/damp interiors (oh and roofs wink )
Gremlins in the electronics
Rodent damage
Sticking throttle butterfly
moisture in the oil/sump

Not to mention lack of lubrication in the engine
Bruce @ BR showed me some pictures of a low mileage engine they took a part
All the valve train was rusty as well as the bore of the cylinders and top of pistons

Hi Simon, can you give us some help with haggling techniques!

Did you manage to get money off the sticker price or any extras thrown in.

It would be nice to know what potentially Amy be possible.

I have heard that Stratstone, for example, won't shift on sticker price.

Cheers

Gerry
