Just Googled Barbacos and it didn't know it. Is it a small village near Rugby?

Don't a couple of the top Amex cards (platinum & black) have a concierge service? If you've got one of the cards, they might be able help you jump the queue. Or for that matter, another concierge service (a la vertu phones or top London hotels).

Otherwise, bookings open two months in advance (used to be 90 days). So just try and make sure that you're on their website at 10am on the same date, two months in advance. Failing all of that, they also run a reserve list. Oh, maximum table size for booking is 6.

(Can you guess who's going to the Fat Duck for my birthday in March?) lick
Aaaahhhhhh !!! You jammy git Bravo yes

Since it was on Masterchef, my desire to get there has been rekindled. It has been the world's top restaurant for 2 years now???

Nick did mention the Amex route and I've never really been into Amex but I'm starting to feel a visit to that site MAY be in order.

Have a great Birthday smile
I use the Amex concierge quite a lot for booking stuff, if you have no luck elsewhere drop me a PM with the details of dates/numbers and I'll give them a call for you.

Bad news I'm afraid Phil - I rang them and they explained that they do not have any amex preferential tables there.

They explained that booking opens two months in advance, at 8am in the morning online and 2pm in the afternoon on the phone. Apparently the the only way you (or amex) can get a reservation, is to be online, 2 months in advance, at 8am, ready to book. Apparently there are only 13 tables & they all get snapped up almost immediately frown

Rich - thanks for trying !!!

I shall adopt a two prong approach of following that process as well as sticking my name on the waiting list, just in case smile

FWIW, a couple of small caveats:

Firstly, the bookings open at 10am every day (not 8am)

but secondly:

"As from January 2013 our booking period will be a rolling 2 months, by date, in advance.
With March 2013 reservations already released there will be no new dates opening throughout January 2013."
