What about Oulton then? 102dB there.

Angelsey don't even noise test bikes... could go there smile
Angelsey in good weather is fantastic, in bad weather it is awful and it is a LONG way for those Southerners wink
A little surreal heading off towards the Irish sea at high speed though laugh

As I said on email, Llandow don't test for noise either. They are small circuits though, ill suited to big power heavy cars... like Goodwood is smile

102dB standard is quite generous yes

Goodwood let me out at 112dB after a bit of persuading that I could behave when going past the microphones biglaugh

That's a valid point. As a supporter of the V12 I want Cockernee to beat Mike. We need to find a circuit with relaxed noise limits and a long straight! biggrin

Depends what tyres Ben's car will have. If he has Trofeos vs 'Chimney Sweep' Corsas, then it'll be close, although the V12's mods probably just make it too much of a power difference to offset the V8's weight advantage.

Mike will be fitting the resonators, so I should be able to get under 100dB. Anyway I can cheat with the exhaust switch and then open it on track wink

No track day tyres nono, that is not playing by the rules. Trust me 70 or 80 BHP will not make up for track day tyres, trick suspension and 50Kg.

Snetterton would be ideal or Thruxton in the UK for power, SPA is definately a V12 circuit yes I think we are all overlooking Simon T, he will be the one setting the times as it is his home circuit. Hopefully he will bring something special along for the day that can lap around the 60 second mark yes That I need to see.

Snetterton would be a bit expensive to rent wouldn't it?

Yes but I want a track with long straights to make the most of my advantage biggrin. I don't actually like Snetterton...

Trofeos are no more 'track-day' than Corsas, it's what the car is fitted with these days in summer. You can't blag that one smile

Anyway, it's not really a question of which driver beats which driver but it will be a great test of which Bamford Rose car is actually dynamically faster but is as much about which is more pleasurable to drive. BR utopia perhaps smile

Surprised you don't think the 90-odd BHP would be enought to offset at 50kg weight advantage as you'll both be on sticky tyres. I wonder if the BR switchable 'firm' suspension is stiffer than standard V12V settings?

Will we use the same driver in both cars to 'stig' the test? smile

Racing a car against a bike in a straight line is an exercise in a waste of time

I'm definitely up for it.

Can I brink 2 cars! Ones a track only toy but happy to let others have a play with it on track.. A new engine is less than the cost of 4 Aston tyres and v curious to see how it compares.

Definitely smile

I'm bringing a bike and a car I hope, as long as my mate can come down in his van.

Proper track toys yes

More fun than road cars and normally much cheaper

Plus we've all seen Astons before, I'd love to see some properly interesting and different cars going round smile

Purdey will be up for this. No Molly at the moment! Can someone be kind enough to add Rob and Molly to the list? I have no idea how to do it.

FWIW, I really, really do not like the idea of cars and bikes on track at the same time - assuming any track would even let that happen?

I have never been on a TD with bikes as well, always assumed bikes and cars had their own days.
