Try the new RS6, that has to be the new benchmark......
The danger is that you would fall asleep driving it!

Great car Gerry, the noise is epic and it is amazing off the line. I've been properly scared in one of them!

I was only jesting, I did test drive one but I don't believe it was the latest version. I just find them very boring/sterile inside.

Sorry me old china, might see you round at some of the Essex boy meets?

I can now get more swag in my car than yours, although very doubtful the old bill could ever catch you like they could me!!

Cheers

Six bleedin' posts over 14 months and he felt it necessary to have a dig at you.
Cannot understand how some people can be so mean.
Best of luck with your new car Gerry.

Gerry, I hope that you have many happy miles in the car, but, even with the planned AM-Mercedes tie up, it doesn't do much for me at all. I appreciate that the drivetrain is truly exceptional, but externally, it looks like what every sales rep's wife is driving. Mercedes only occasionally produce a really desirable car, 300SL, 230SL Pagoda, 450SLC (imho) the original CL500 particularly in CL63 AMG form, possibly the latest SLK in an effeminate sort of way, and the SLS, otherwise they are little better than a sharp looking taxi.

But it would be boring if we were all identical, wouldn't it?

Cheers John, spent an hour in it today, giving it beans sounds like a frikin detonator, unbelievable sound, very different to the Vantage but just as aurally pleasing, in a different way.

Might be worth budgeting for extra tyres - the launch starts can be addictive, at least, that's what I've heard wink

Indeed, I took a mate of mine who has a DB9 out in mine and he was quite blown away by the noise and performance. It's not an Aston but it has its own charm in an AMG kind of way. You'll get used to sliding it around a bit and if you set the traction control to sport and suspension to sport, it's not too bad on a B road. The only thing that's disappointed me slightly is the throttle response (or lack of) but I'm getting used to it. Have you found that an issue yet?

Not yet, but haven't really 'explored' yet and unlikely to do that today, what a miserable freakin day!

I have to re-iterate though, the sound is simply stunning, as I am sure you know.
