Mmmmmmmm......titanium......dribble. That would be my first choice too. And I'm sure the red interior will look the dog's danglies

Great idea to take the week off work once you've got it. Wales has some great driving roads too (and keeps the mileage down a bit compared to Scotland). Just need to watch out for the "furry maggets" (TM Jeremy Clarkson).

Just make sure you post loads of piccies upon delivery.

Well there's a nice road in France connecting two towns that go by the name of Le Mans and Mulsanne respectively where you would be very welcomed Preferably by the 2nd weekend of June...

Congratulations on your choice. Hope you enjoy it fully.

I don't think we will be there in time, we're on the Thursday overnight Portsmouth to Le Havre. I think we'll probably get to Le Mans Friday afternoon. We are camping with Airtrack and normally plot up at Arnage for the start.

Good choice heading for Scotland - deserted back roads, lack of traffic and here in Fife no Gatsos and good info on where the occasional mobile ones are. If you fancy stopping off a few minutes after the Forth Road Bridge for a coffee and a chat, I'd be happy to show you a few - in return for a ride of course. Although I have to say, most of the best roads are up the middle and the West Coast.

I should add my complements on the excellent review, one of the best I've seen. JCs in the ST was pretty naff I thought, pandering to his general readership. Good reviews in EVO, including an interesting piece on the logistics of the launch in the South of France, as well as Octane. All are agreed - probably the best GT and perhaps the best car in the world.

Just discovered this fantastic article on the DB9 - rather belatedly. Thanks for the excellent write up. Watched Top Gear last night and was bowled over by the beauty of the DB9 and its sound and performance. Anyone know what colour their test car was - it was gorgeous?

There's no way I'd be able to afford a DB9 currently - unless I trade in him indoors for a wealthier model  Now I wonder how many years it's going to take for the car to depreciate to a level at which it might come into my price range?

Can't wait to see piccies of Shadytree's car. It sounds stunning.

The car was a colour called Celeste Blue. Have to say, it's not the best one for the car.

And unfortunately I am spoken for, otherwise you could have driven mine!

Have to keep my eyes open for the other colour options. Not sure the burgundy one's quite my cup of tea. Titanium is tasty though!

I'll have to keep looking for an alternative spouse to indulge my passion for expensive cars then

Only a 'tad' excited? Bet you can hardly sleep. Now whilst you're enjoying the DB9 driving experience, don't forget to try and find a little time to take some piccies for the rest of us to enjoy!

Don't worry I will , one of my hobbies is photography. I'm taking it to Scotland for a week when i get it. So hopefully will get some nice pics up there (depending on the weather of course).

Stuart,

When you return from Scotland, how do you fancy bringing the DB9 along to one of our Sunday Essex drives? Normally runs from 9am-12pm every Sunday or so. We have a fantastic route around nth Essex, your car would fit in very nicely with our usual TVR / Porsche / Ferrari crew..... feel free to email me through my profile if your interested.

Sounds fun. If it involves a pub as well I'm up for it!

Always! We stop at 12pm as its opening time in our favourite village pub at the end of the run. I'll mail you next time we're off... enjoy the car! (like you could do otherwise)

Hi V12BRY

Such a shame you're spoken for

Just have to make do with him indoors. He has his good points - he shares my passion for cars and let me indulge in one of the more affordable dream cars on my list.

Have I put my foot in it re colour? Is the burgundy your preferred colour? I really should be more diplomatic. Anyway I think it must be virtually impossible for a DB9 to be a bad colour. What do I know about colour choice - this is the person who said there was no way she wanted a particular colour on my current car, and what did I buy? And what do I now consider the best colour for the beast?
