FFS as a few others have pointed out your very valid point to starting this thread has now withered and lost all credibility
Good luck with sorting your issues, though I doubt much support will be forthcoming from here

Understandable - I've been through A LOT of warranty claims on both my cars (more than any other I've had)I still love my S and enjoy it though
On the two points above
Paint finish and "corrosion" has got a lot better (and better than I've seen on 458's) since the introduction of the robotic sprayers and UV wipes clean down procedure. There are sometimes issues with certain colours that are hand painted (Lightning Silver like mine )
The patch of paint on the mirror I guess refers to the black paint on the arm, its a known issue and easily sorted.
Wow, leave you lot alone for five minutes and look what happens!
We don't know the OP's attitude with AM, but on here it doesn't come over too positive. I think it has been accepted that there is a paint, not corrosion problem which AM are reluctant to admit. On my V12V I too had it around the passenger door handle, but it was sorted without conflict.
Five years of ownership showed me that AM do care if you interact with them reasonably. I had a gearbox change on my V8V. My dealer was less than helpful but Works service were magnificent and dealt with all my issues that the local dealer didn't want to get involved with, paint included.
So enamoured by AM I am now on my quest to return. I have just ordered a new XKR convertible for £68,000 as I can get a baby seat in it.( tried and tested) . A lot of car for the money. Couldn't justify the dosh for a DBS, and my cunning plan is to get into my dream car V12V Roadster within a year or so if available.
You don't get rid of me that easily.
Play nicely guys, I'm watching you.

Many manufacturers are explicit in stating both paint warranty and corrosion warranty. Jaguar for example - http://www.jaguar.com/gl/en/owner_support/warranty... - provide 3 years for paint defects.

Hope the plan works Di - just come back from a run in mine today and every time I drive it I just love it even more. You know how good the V12V is but without the roof the noise is just fantastic Nice one Nanny Di - the Jag is a lovely car
The primary reason for Karen's used X5 (collect next week after Spain) is twofold: grandchild to be lifted in and out, with more to come, plus elderly parents who aren't going to get any more nimble as they age.
Funny how we come to a stage in our lives where we need to consider others in the purchasing decision !!

Make sure you get the side steps on it else you may struggle to get in It would appear that Aston are suffering from " over promising and under delivering" but they are still wonderful fabulous cars that very few people have the pleasure to own and enjoy........just booked my Db9 in to have some paintwork done on one of the arches ......bloody bubbling paint would you believe.......now where's my 10 year warranty booklet .

You've got to be joking if you have 'binned the brochure of the Aston you were considering' because some embittered nutcase comes onto the AM PH forum and tries to upset the happy campers because he hasn't had the answers he had hoped for. Since when did every manufacturer manage to keep all their warranty complainants happy?
Meanwhile, back in the real world, it would be really nice if we could all get back to chatting about the random, vaguely Aston Martin related, topics that we usually do. I hope someone is going to agree with me that there is an awful lot more to love about the brand and the privilege of owning said brand than there ever are things AM related to whinge about.

Agree 100% Mollypops though hopefully this doesn't make me a nazi sympathiser again... I don't look at the brand through rose tinted specs, but I am realistic about a small volume manufacturer.

I think you were really going to buy a pink Cadillac and had no intention of buying an Aston !

I have no doubt there's more. Yes I agree problems shouldn't happen and I've experienced most of all the known issues on my Vantage. However, AM did put everything right without quibble and I guess for a small niche manufacturer with low volumes it can take longer for faults to emerge and be corrected in the supply chain or design, plus hand assembled means introducing the enemy of all things manufactured - variation.
Plus, although this thread has reached 17 pages ( some of which involved the usual off thread ramblings of the permanently bewildered regulars ) but it is still only a very low number of owners. Problems on Internet threads should always be balanced by the fact people are far more inclined to moan than they are to write good things, and usually represent only a very small sample of the cars on the road.
Have I loved my Aston? Yes. Was I disappointed at some of the niggly issues? Yes. Would I buy another? Definately Yes I would, because they are fabulous in so many other ways.
Maybe we need a thread (another one) to balance this one with how many have not had these paint issues?
