So what have you done with your Aston today?

You're mellowing George.
I was looking forward to you posting with much more vitriol, come on matey you can do better than this.
Looks like our friend Mr Gould is taking over your mantle for extreme criticism.
I will not comment adversely other than to say "less is more".
To the OP,welcome to the forum and enjoy your car.
Apologies, I will try harder in future! I was looking forward to you posting with much more vitriol, come on matey you can do better than this.

Would be keen to hear what Mr G has to say on it
What have I done today?
Drove a circular tour through Wokingham.
When the AM SatNav man started to direct me around exactly the same circle for a second time, I told him to keep quiet and go home to Sweden. I then got on much better, by using the Sun to find my destination.
How much did that option cost?
I don't mind it apart from I would of wrapped the roof in carbon to carry the effect on. On one note though you say you've had it re sprayed. Now unless you've have a full strip down which would costs thousands then I assume the engine bay is still the original colour which unlike the other modifications you cannot just take off and will devalue the car on selling

Hi guys,
I've always been into my BMWs and this is my first Aston. Its just had a load of work done to it recently including a full respray in white. Managed to locate some really nice carbon parts in the UK and a set of 2014 Aston Vanquish Wheels to finish her off. What do you guys think?
I'm sorry you asked but I think it looks terribly tacky. It's an Aston Martin not a VW Golf from The Fast and the Furious. The design is famous for its flowing lines which are no longer there, the wheels look like something a 17 year old would do to their first car and sticking a V12 bonnet on a V8 is like sticking a M3 badge on a BMW 318i, kinda embarrassing.I've always been into my BMWs and this is my first Aston. I suspect I've been a bit harsh, but as long as you like it, nothing else and no one else's opinion matters!

I think I agree with this but is putting a DBS/V12V gear lever on a V8V allowed as I'm currently considering this? Mind you, by then my power to weight ratio will be a bit closer to a V12V so the M3 vs 318i analogy wouldn't really apply. M800BEN said:
Thanks for some of the nice comments i did think it would be a required taste
I was unsure on painting the bonnet seemed such a shame covering it up but i can always paint it at a later date

I know what your up to my boy, your just making subtle changes in the hope that the good lady doesn't notice the difference for when the whole 9 yards finally turns up………….
OP,
Its your car so if it floats your boat go for it and enjoy…………
Mind you when I had my first car at 17 which was a Austin 1300 I did stick a GT badge on the boot and had some of those long rubbery switch extensions if anyone
can remember them, that was cool in my day…………..I think …………..and thats before Thrush side pipes,Wolfrace wheels and Whip aerials……………….oh the nostalgia of it all
bring back the 8 track if you please...
NHh
My first car in 1985 was a new red Cortina cost me £630 . I fixed up a straight thru exhaust that came out the side, made a lovely noise.
I still have an 8 track that I took out of a Corvette I had in the 80's....happy days.
Today got a MOT for the DB9V .
Edited to correct typo helpfully brought to my attention by Neil.
Albeit not really necessary as anybody who has met me will see that I am a young man full of vigour.

I am also considering this. I have heard that the gear change feels betting with this gear lever?? not sure how true this, but they do look nice and don't look outrageous in a V8 V8V Pete said:

Sorry Neil.....typo error....should be 1985I am 38 ish years old and very fit and take exception to any comments that attempt to suggest anything else.
It concerns me that if one of the many lithe young Russian models that clamour for my attention read this forum they might believe your slanderous suggestion that I am an old codger.
Neil.........The Ford Cortina was indeed produced in 1965.....I however purchased one in 1985 as a Classic Car.
