well I still cant see the reg plate in the browser bar but I will take your word for it? :? Does indeed seem odd then!

DavidV12V - https://used.astonmartin.com/ - UK + V12V shows HWM listing one in Quantum Silver at £129,950.

whoami - what is funny? If supply is running out we are talking about a 1 month old car here with 1k miles that is still £15k under list price. Its only about 18mths since they were all asking that price, if supply is running out its logical to assume that the last few to sell will be priced much closer to RRP. There are plenty of people on here who bought early and paid the full price (I wasnt one of them however).

Still who knows, they will only get it if somebody pays it!

Ah..thanks....I think my problem was that I was just using PH classified (fountain of all knowledge as we know) assuming that all AM dealerships pushed their cars on here - but clearly not - still as I'm not in a position to put one on the wall right now I'll have to just stick with the one I've got.....

List minus £20k seemed to be the market in Q4 2010, I'm a bit out of date though.

Well Carbon Black Special Ed cars are a little more expensive than normal Black (probably Onyx) however I was told by a dealer that there was actually more margin in a Carbon Black car so they could offer me one cheaper. Still I ended up with a better deal elsewhere on a Meteroite normal V12V.

I dont think many people here would really want to say what they paid themselves, but suffice to say there used to be very good deals on offer if you pushed hard enough. That said the market seems to be turning now a little as stock is running out, so I would expect the deals to be had drying up a little, but then again the economic news is all doom and gloom again at the moment.

Just offer what you think is fair and you are prepared to pay - I think thats the best advice! smile

Don't tell him that. He might actually buy one, and then the Aston image is screwed forever biggrin

(How come the Scud went so quickly?)

Never really understood why, though.

The Virage in the foyer at Gaydon yesterday was in carbon black, but the talk in the paint shop concluded that it only has the standard 4 coats, whilst the premier colours (pearl white?? or any of the One-77 colours) have 7 coats smile

Porsche mentality? Remove work, add cost. Always going to be someone who will be stupid enough to pay it, so why not.

Yup.

I've just been treated to a meal tonight by my Bank Manager George (yes, they do still exist at certain banks) so apologies for not having time to upload the pics yet from Gaydon.

I will try again tomorrow (night?) smile

The Carbon Black is a special edition, not JUST a paint colour.

As per AM website V12 Vantage Carbon Black Special Ed spec is as follows :

In addition to the standard specification

Carbon Black metallic paintwork
Carbon-fibre side strakes with Black mesh inserts
10-spoke forged alloy gloss black painted wheels with diamond turned finish
Bright finish grille
Front parking sensors
Lightweight seats
Obsidian Black leather and Alcantara interior trim
Piano black facia and centre console trim
Anodised black tread plates
Unique sill plaques

So as you can see a few cost options thrown in for "free" and a few bespoke bits too.

So in reality, the 'specialness' of the carbon black special edition had absolutely nowt to do with carbon black? smile

Well yes, because the Carbon Black paint is supposed to be unique to the Carbon Black Special Edition, but I suspect in reality if you really wanted it on a normal car and wafted enough cash at them they would oblige. Not sure why you would do it that way though unless maybe you just didnt like all the extra cf and black trim bits??

Errr - "nowt", are you from Yorkshire really then and just pretending to be a Scot!

Edinburgh born and bred, Adam - Gilmerton, on the south side.

The carbon black is a cool colour but I had a 5 series in it a few years ago so it doesn't really have the special appeal to me smile

The Carbon fibre side strakes are quite pricey too - I've been quoted between £500 and £1200 supply and fit.

For some fancy charcoal and resin

I was offered a brand new one last year at £115k,they had a limited stock available at that number, but I bottled out of it.I am still looking at one,and said I want to pay 90-100k for a used one ...delaer says they think they willhave a carbon black one at that price, although still waiting to here back from them on that.

What you are seeing is what is happening with most cars of this nature, new sales have tumbled dramatically, and people are keeping their cars longer,so used stock is harder and harder to find.See ferrari 430s/gallardos etc

Yes please!!!!

I "bought" a pair based on the quote I was given and now I am told I need a "kit". I think that the numbers I was quoted were wrong and now they are trying to avoid the issue.

I am remember rightly, the HWM car is without the carbon backed seats which is a 11k extra (according to Works Service)

£11k for a new build or for retrofit?
