Hi all,
Sorry for the bump but I've had very little in the way of acknowledgement so just wondered if everyone relevant received the email………….
Just to let you know today you should have received a payment request from myself to cover the cost of your meals,I've sent out 2 emails the first for all those with standard
requirements and a second to the 3 couples with a differing dietary requirement.
The mails have gone to the email address I have so in some cases they will be at you place of work so don't worry if they haven't popped up at home today as I appreciate it is
a Bank Holiday.
If you could forward the required funds via the details provided by the 30th of June it would be appreciated please so that I can make one transaction to the George Hotel.
Once payments are in I shall confirm anything and everything that may be relevant.
Many thanks,
Ed.

Andrew,
From the George head out into Rutland heading for Oakham on the A606 and do a loop of Rutland Water before heading out to Melton Mowbray again via the A606,from Melton join the B676
and head for Colsterworth before going over the A1 and proceeding toward Bourne on the A151.
Watch out for the dip and sharp left hander in Grimsthorpe and then continue until you can branch right for Stamford on the outskirts of Bourne, take this road A6121 back toward Stamford.
Add what you fancy to this route and you'll have plenty of bends and ups and downs and a pretty scenic drive.
Hope that helps a bit and enjoy.

Rutlands finest are ill equipped don't you know,I doubt their Kodak and a push bike is going to alarm anyone.
Mind you look out for their Canine Division as Toby the Border Terrier is pretty quick off the mark and is a bugger around your ankles …………..
They pulled off a crime sensation for these parts recently after breaking an inter County scrumping cartel……..

Gentlemen if you please,
Remember the 30th is the cut off day for payment for this Dinner,if you still intend dining please make sure your payment reaches me no later than the morning of the 30th.
If you no longer intend joining us please let me know sooner rather than later so others can take you place.
Sorry to put the pressure on regarding outstanding monies but if the 6 remaining outstanding parties could cough up or let me know their position I would be grateful.
Many thanks .

We have paid haven't we Ed? Can't see any harm in naming those you are chasing here as your emails may have gone astray and the error may well be innocent. Its been so long since we all put our names down for this that some may have forgotten Remember the 30th is the cut off day for payment for this Dinner,if you still intend dining please make sure your payment reaches me no later than the morning of the 30th.

You've been here and know what its like to round up the loot for these kind of things, I'm trying to do it professionally and politely without to much fuss.
I don't believe people haven't received the email as its gone to the same addresses from which I 've received replies when choosing the menu plus other correspondence.
I realise that people put there names down along while ago but to be honest the current diners list has little resemblance to the original list of diners with a lot of the original
characters bowing out for one reason or another.
We shall see what the next few days brings as there's time in hand but this was just a gentle reminder as I've got other fish to fry………….
Just to inform you of a few details,
The dress code is smart casual and I'm assured tidy jeans are acceptable as we are dining in a private room.
The meal will be served at 7.30 pm with pre meal drinks available in the bar,I shall be at the George and in the bar from about 6.30 pm to socialise prior to the bun fight.
A table plan will be on view to see the seating arrangements, please sit in your allocated places as thats where your choice of Dinner will hopefully turn up……..
I have endeavoured to seat people together that know each other where ever possible so please bear with me on the seating arrangements as I've done my best to accommodate
everyone where ever possible.
Hotel residents may book drinks to there room but all non residents may run a table bill which must be cleared on the evening prior to leaving, the staff will take orders
for your drinks if you do not wish to wander to the bar,it's best to have the table service imo.
This table bill will be for the group on the table as the George will not be able to run individual bills per person or couple on the table so we will have to split it between us if you follow.
I have requested some parking spaces to be reserved for the hotel residents Aston's which I understand will be at the far end of the car park which is accessed by the up ramp in the
mid car park area, then left into the upper zone.
You will not have clearance issues at a steady pass.
Although the Hotel has agreed in principle to my private parking allocation they have not 100% guaranteed it at this point may I say,but fingers crossed they will comply…..
I can't guarantee any places for the evening guests but as many are resident in near by hotels I presume the short trip to the George will be under taken by foot or taxi.
If your an evening guest and you are taking your Aston the tip is to arrive early to find the space at the George.
There is however a public car park which won't be busy on a Saturday night just outside the George Car Park which is a Pay and Display affair.
Any questions please shout.

Come on Steven its meant to be the old codgers like me that can't remember………..
We are in the Daniel Lambert room which is part of the grand Oak Panelled dining room, they have a fancy sliding Oak partition that divides the room for private functions
such as ours.
The George is a lovely place full of character, much like Stamford in some ways so I hope you enjoy your visit.
Pending the duration of your stay try the Garden Room restaurant as thats very nice and is most tranquil amongst the plants.
If your there on the Saturday afternoon and the sun shines sit outside in the courtyard and sip your Pims, all very civilised don't you know…...
just sit back and soak up the silence until some noisy bugger in another Aston turns up……..
Last thing don't forget to park in the hopefully reserved bit at the top of the main Car Park nicely out of the way.…….
