Those stalks, and the seat switches have always been the weak point in the Aston interiors. They have now replaced the seat switches, but we still have those ugly, clunky stalks.
Did you notice the air vents, in the One-77 they are the same plastic ones that we get, but surrounded by a complex piece of anodised alu. Nice disguise, but still recognisable
I have to say that now I'm on my second Aston I still haven't once noticed the wiper stalks, even after making a mental note when reading this forum to do so! I would guess that most Aston owners never notice them, so it's not an imperative for the factory to invest in changing them. I have to admit having seen the nicer new seat switches, I'm tempted to machine up some prettier ones as those I do notice when I get in the car, but the factory have upgraded these.Did you notice the air vents, in the One-77 they are the same plastic ones that we get, but surrounded by a complex piece of anodised alu. That is possibly the best sounding car I have ever heard.
It is a very good review, much better than the one in TG magazine, partly because Metcalfe is much more engaged with the car, partly because it is done in a more real world environment. For those of us unlikely ever to be behind the wheel of a One-77 he gives a far better impression of what that might be like, rather than focussing on peripheral criticism, whether that is the transmission (which can't be THAT bad), or the wiper stalks, which with respect, are hardly central to the experience. I doubt if I would even notice, provided that they worked.
