sure when the Vanquish's value drops to a suitable level for the general public then you'll be able to get a non-Elwood Blue version!

I've not seen it in the flesh, but I'm fairly sure it isn't Elwood blue. It looks a fair bit lighter than that?

My guess is Monterey Blue (a Q colour) smile

I was very disappointed with the programme, which turned out to be no more than a lads' day out. Childish doughnut competitions and drag racing sequences were a complete waste of time and rubber! I would like to see a serious review of the Vanquish before TG is scrapped. mad
I take it this was the first time you had watched Top Gear if you were expecting something different?

Nope. Scripted high-jinks from three popular presenters in an entertainment show with a few cars thrown in.

I don't bawl my eyes out every week because it's not like Fifth Gear or 'Old Top Gear' smile

Remember kids... you don't >have< to watch it.

Mildly amazing laugh
TG has long since dropped in to light entertainment rather than serious car reviews
Still not feeling that front lip frown

Unfortunately the scripted high-jinks from three popular prsenters in an entertainment show with a few cars thrown in was too predictable and well below par. Perhaps it is time to close the shutters on TG after all.

I see where you're coming from, but the modern top gear has never really been about car reviews.. more about entertainment.

I'd say the vast majority of people watching it could never afford such a car, so reviewing it on such a television show wouldn't be sensible.

EDIT: there are loads of unbiased reviews on youtube.. if thats what you're looking for.

Agree to disagree. The first 6, 7, maybe 8 or 9 seasons 'new' Top Gear had decent car reviews.

I would have liked to hear a sensible assessment of the car from James May. At least he didn't prattle on about it being ruined by the Nurburgring.

Without wishing to digress from Mr. May's Aston preferences, may I just wonder if anyone else thinks that the two episodes of TG shown so far are rather weak compared to past series? I think they have run out of ideas and even wit. I agree they are not doing "Road Tests" for buyers but they used to give interesting, informative and dramatically attractive views on cars that us mere mortals are unlikely ever to own..or even might want to own? Now we get very little about the car and more frankly silly repetitive scenario's that are becoming boring..when will we get the "rolling into each others doors" action yet again? The other thing that is tired is the "Star" in a "reasonably priced car"..well rarely do I have a clue who the "Star" is or what they have done to be thought one? "Tonight..Chuck Wobblemaker..WWAAAHHH!!!. Star of that hit programme "Honeygolighty in Dallas" drives our car!! Well...who???

Don't misunderstand..I like Top Gear and the presenters but somebody needs to have a word in their and the Producers ears that they need to go away and have a long hard look at what they are doing. Most of the people I have asked seem to share my thoughts to some extent..others much more forthright..including the "R" word..(that'll be rubbish then). All good things come to an end..unless you keep making good things and Top Gear needs help and FAST....!!!!eekeekwhistleideasmile

Update: I've just read the reviews/thoughts above and see I am not alone at all then. I know it is an Entertainment Show with cars and not meant to be factual but if they are to keep any sense of knowledgeable authority on cars upon which their credibility loosely rests, they must realise that the viewers will get tired of the silly japes..which end up being just "japes" and hence boring. I'm expecting to be entertained but would like gifted journalists like JC to use their considerable talents more wisely...do some serious appraisals in the way that he (JC) does so superbly when he puts his mind to it and be "entertaining" in suitable slots as well. James May has technical ability but Mr. Hammond is too often just a bit irritating...too often and I would like Tiff Needell to return with Vicky Butler Henderson to balance things! RH and Jason Plato deserve each other!driving
