Just had my exhaust replaced under warranty as the valves/flaps squeaked.
So yes noise can be a successful warranty claim.

I just had such an amazing drive... From Kings Cross to Westfield. At 5pm. We're talking central London in rush hour.

It would've been such a boring slow traffic drive in the R8 but in the Vantage it was just continuously gargling. Like a mean, bad wolf gargling fire water.

The overrun, oh my fking God, that overrun!!

The startup from cold put the biggest smile on my face - you can't capture the noise properly on video. The cruising around got everyone's attention because of that crazy burble of a noise. And the sinister, sexy black looks.

I went through a tunnel and exploited every temporary space and the sound just lit up. It was like: yes this is how good it can be and even better if you drove me harder you weak bd!!

And relax...

I know I made the right choice. Every day is gonna be fking amazing from now on. If you haven't driven one. You need to. wink

The clutch thing might be a known issue. You need a sound file / recording of the squeek though, to get it replaced under Warranty.

Would go for the Eyes Wide Shut Party using the engraved code on the key. Did you find the address yet? (it is hidden on the satnav under a certain POI :-)))

I miss my Aston. frown

It was picked up by Grange last Wednesday to get the tracker sorted out and a few other things sorted and should've been ready by now.

But they just called me saying that someone there has accidentally curbed one of the wheels and it has to be sent off to be fixed. Diamond turned wheels ain't easy to sort. tongue out

Friday until I get it back. Long time to be without my one and only true love; she looks so beautiful and makes me so happy; I vow to spend the rest of my life with her until death do us part.

Oh well, there's always the wife in the meantime... wink

From what I understand you need to be wary on diamond turned wheels as they can only be refurbished a couple of times, so a shame if the garage has removed one of those lives for you.

Eeek! Let's hope not...

So what should I ask for as a gesture of goodwill for all these First World Problems I've encountered? I think I've already bought every Aston Martin accessory going... biggrin

I've actually spent more time with the accessories es than I have with the car. Ha. I feel like Joey from Friends when he pretended to have a Porsche. wink

I would check with Grange but it is what I have been told. As for what can they do for you, half day at Milbrook, money off next service. It all depends on how you feel about them damaging your P&J and whether you want to get something for your inconvenience I suppose.

Hello my friend, YES I got the car back this very evening would you believe as the wheel didn't arrive till late. Need to have a proper telephone conversation tomorrow to discuss...

Man, it's been a long time though. Feels like I've just got it for the first time all over again. It now has the V12 side badges and the carbon fibre centre wheel caps but right now it's got its new cover on. (Took me ages to get it on and try and get rid of most creases.)

Nice and snug though now. I love the cover: looks like it's ready to be unveiled...

When it was being driven into the my underground car park I remembered why I'd bought it:
The sound. The growl. The bark. biggrin

So I couldn't help myself, had to give it a few beans. Just recorded a video of startup and some revs and this time I remembered to put the Sport button on - makes it easier to make more noise. I love the multi layer noise and echo. The video is the third one:

Thats good news, glad you got it back. I'd be interested to see the V12 side badges, I might do the same.

For some reason, I don't get the same red glow before pushing in the key, sorry 'emotion control' biggrin Sounds great by the way, especially good in a garage. biggrin
