Off to test a DBS and V12VS tomorrow...Any advice?

Flugpatz: God, don't get me started on Dixons / Currys...I once told a sales assitant to "fk off!" after she wouldn't take no for an answer for iPad anti-virus security. On an iPad?! I promptly got removed from the store...
Zod: I've actually been given a further discount today of 15% on the price for the glass buttons I originally quoted. But there's also £195 for labour costs. Good luck!

The four obvious ones you can see, together with the 2 seat tilt buttons and the one on the glovebox.
Dealer installed them so no idea if they are easy to fit or not I'm afraid.
Ah, that's very interesting. Thanks. Makes it more tempting...!Dealer installed them so no idea if they are easy to fit or not I'm afraid.

Did I mention your car is gorgeous? I mean Aston don't do ugly so they're all grades of loveliness but yeah, well done and congratulations on that black beauty. I might just draw one for my own collection
Ah, thanks. Draw away! I'll have a good look at the thread... http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Only 2 more sleeps
Just got an email saying handover is looking likely to be next WEDNESDAY... The wheels are coming back on Friday and the badges + glass buttons arriving on Monday (if they order them today).
On the one hand we have some friends staying over with us for the weekend so don't think wifey would've liked me partaking in driving fun in all my spare time. On the other hand I still have the R8...but I want my Aston goddammit!!!

Vicariously, by watching every single Youtube video on the V12V. And when they ran out - onto DBS videos on the grounds that it has similar running gear.
Good plan! Quickmoose said:
I don't think that's a good plan, looking at stuff you could've bought but didn't eats away at you (I find)...also avoid any form of classified section lest there be a better car at a better price.
Get a brochure of your car, old roadtests, or just pictures and just enjoy the torment.... we all know it's the best bit.
I'm keeping myself occupied by looking at cool, but completely unnecessary Aston Martin accessories...which I will no doubt end up buying nonetheless!Get a brochure of your car, old roadtests, or just pictures and just enjoy the torment.... we all know it's the best bit.

Deep breaths and count to ten. It will soon be here. When you have finished YouTube on the V12 you could always revert back to porn.
Revert back?? Any Aston video is porn my friend! cayman-black said:
Been off line ,just back and I have seen the good news congratulations Nijius.
For me the CB,s are the best!
Thanks my friend! 269 posts and only a matter of days to go before I'll be officially part of the Carbon Black V12 Club like yourself. Look forward to comparing cars. For me the CB,s are the best!

Mine fking hates reverse gear if there is any slight slope in sight.
I thought that was only a problem with the Sport Shift models - is it an issue with the manuals as well?? I thought I'd left those woes behind with my last Vantage...! DocW said:
Excellent times, I would just check (if you haven't already) that Aston have sent the glass switches. I had mine changed in my N430 but Aston would not release the switches as there was one missing from the set! It took two weeks to sort out despite the best efforts of the dealer. You don't need that sort of disappointment when you are so hyped up.
I gave up on the switches in the end as they said they would have to dismantle the seats to put in the seat tilt switches which could affect the tightness of the leather plus it would add to the labour cost. Just didn't seem worth it in the end when I got the final quote, especially as most of the time I'll only be using two of the switches!J12KJR said:
Hope those 24 hours go quickly for you.
Reference the glass switches you should be able to just get the 2 switches you are going to see/use, if Welwyn cant help on that one you could try Bamford Rose Mike is very helpful.
Mine has a problem with one of the new tyres not holding air so it has gone back to Works Service to be sorted, so there is now a void in my garage, what am I supposed to look at now!!!!

My sincerest sympathies on no longer having such a beautiful work of art to admire...they should've given you a courtesy car: don't they have any spare One-77s lying around...?

I barely can either!!I don't think I could stand it, myself...

Wasn't going to be using it today anyway so didn't even ask for a courtesy car. They had picked it up in their covered transporter within 5 hours of being notified so can't be unhappy with that level of service.
I have a fair few pictures to drool over and having spent last week watching any and all videos of the V12S I have slipped back into that mode with great ease
Must have been 20 minutes passed for you now, assume you are going to be camped on their door step from dawn tomorrow.
That's good service. Looking at YouTube videos seems to be the only thing I've been doing in any spare time I've had over the last week...that exhaust noise... Don't worry, I'll be putting up plenty of photos and the odd video of the epic sounds to tidy you over until your very own V12V (Roadster) comes along...

I hope you're going to keep it professionally detailed?
or you have the kit/technique to keep that swirl free... because colour/curves like that...it NEEDS some care.
I don't pay to get my car cleaned: I just wait for those people who start washing your windscreen when you're stuck in traffic, tell them to do the rest and then drive off. or you have the kit/technique to keep that swirl free... because colour/curves like that...it NEEDS some care.

You will love it. As soon as you push that glass key in and hear the V12 roar it will all be worthwhile.
There's something special about it being a V12 and in the Vantage body.
Just remember, people will think your a freak for constantly smiling and nipping into the garage to admire your beauty
Honestly, every V12 Aston that I've been lucky enough to drive (DB9, DBS, Rapide S and now this) the startup sound is enough to put a massive smile on my face. There's something special about it being a V12 and in the Vantage body.

When I had the V8 Vantage I asked my wife what she thought about the sound and the drive after she drove it. She replied: "Yeah, it's alright."
Blasphemy!
Speaking of which, I'll ask if I can take the Vanquish for a drive tomorrow while I'm there. Gotta think ahead to the next car...
