That happened around 2008.

I think it's Elwood Blue as well. Helped the car stand out with the yellow LFA. The Viper was crawling along unnoticed in black.

The test was apparently supposed to have the F12b instead of the LFA if Clarkson is to be believed but Ferrari couldn't deliver a car...? .

With respect "yeti", I was NOT complaining about the programme but simply observing that in my opinion and in that of many of my friends, the first two editions of this series are below standard. I know the "standard" was never high on journalistic technical quality but it always was a dramatic, interesting and involving programme that inspired many to watch which is why it has sold around the World becoming one of the most successful broadcasts in recent times. However, having attained that level you need to maintain the reason why everybody liked it and so far, this time they are well below. The USA trip was just a silly and pointless exercise full of tired old "situations" that they have done too many times..just three fading old men given cars to try to make a film with and the threadbare story line is just that..threadbare. Top Gear is suffering from that well known disease of believing it's own infallibility..whatever we do, however sloppy the job, everybody will buy it so we don't have to try any more..but you do...everything changes..including expected success.

Now should you wish to quote me then quote exactly what I say and not what you interpret me or anybody else might be thinking or might have said. Quotes are exact..not your ideas on what you think was said.

..and finally...I am fully aware that I do not HAVE to watch it but I like Top Gear and it's three presenters so will watch it but wish it could be better and you never know, it just might!!smile

The thing that largely makes top gear a success is its Sunday timeslot. There is nothing else on; its easy watching, mildly entertaining and not taxing on the mind.

I think its pretty pap these days but still watch it, mainly to see and hear some silly cars. Girls like it as well, the BBC makes a killing exporting it - despite half of America sharing our views on its content, so why would they stop smile

They are editable for a reason. And with respect, I will do as I please (within reason) on a public forum.

FWIW, I do agree with the spirit of your post but I thoroughly enjoyed the programme all the way through. Perhaps I don't have the cultured sensitivity of the haters.

Motors TV usually has something alright to watch on, that and Sky Sports are pretty much the only thing I watch.

What a choice, a programme for girls or one that's the equivalent of going to Bedlam to laugh at the lunatics!

Top Gear - its not a review of cars its a light entertainment show that has some cars in it. Lets face it no one has ever bought a car on the strength of a Top Gear review.

Top Gear now reminds me of another show that also used to be on a Sunday night.
Last of The Summer Wine
Its just a younger version............with nice cars.
So for Compo, Clegg and whatever the other old Fart was called replace them with May, Hammond and Clarkson.
bloody good comparison. biggrin

They can understand pictures but obviously the previous episodes where "rude" words were spelt out when a car door was opened went over the heads of the Daily Mail readers smile

I've not seen it in the flesh, but I'm fairly sure it isn't Elwood blue. It looks a fair bit lighter than that?

My guess is Monterey Blue (a Q colour) smile
George....it IS ELWOOD BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've got pictures of Elwood Blue V12V's and its the same colour.
Just to chuck another colour in there, I was told by someone at Aston that they think it is the new 'Flugplatz(sp?) Blue', named after the corner at the Nurburgring.

Lets be honest, I bet 99%....... Nope 100% of everyone (blokes) on here would give their right plum for their jobs. Just switch on, don't think too hard about what's going on and enjoy an hours worth of Telly where you don't have to phone in and vote for something. If it's not for you, most T.V's now come with a remote where you can press a button and chose to watch something else.

I do however, think that the star in the reasonably priced car could be in the new Subaru/Toyota BRZ /GT86 and that they could find room on the show for Sabine Shmitz.

The programme has at least given us, probably the only chance, of seeing different Formula One drivers competing in an identical car.

Unfortunately, different weather conditions have intervened, so we still don't know which one is the fastest driver.
