My experiences so far has only been complimentary rather than insulting!
However I do sense jealousy at times.

Took Molly to a lovely restaurant last night . Mrs pretentious was seated not far away with ugly daughter and greasy boyfriend. After she had totally pissed off the waiter making changes to the menu because of her needs she pointed to Pearl parked outside . "Is that thing yours" she said in a fairly loud voice. Embarrassed he muttered something about the cost. "Must be the Chefs then" she declared. With that she turned around to scan the room. I felt quite smug . The Aston Martin parked outside was patently mine as I was stood up facing her with my trousers around my ankles!

In 2 and half years of AM ownership that was the first adverse comment that I am aware of.

I sold my DB9 in January of this year and bought a Lamborghini Gallardo.

Before the DB9 I had a V8 Vantage.

Throughout the 3 1/2 years of owning the Astons I never received one single insult. Quite the contrary, the cars were often met with smiles and a " thumbs up " sign .

How different with the Lamborghini .There really must be some sort of hate thing here in Plymouth against the marque. The latest came from three yobs in a Ford Focus "shedster." After 20 seconds of revving the engine whilst in slow moving traffic alongside me in the Lamborghini , the moron in the front passenger seat of the Focus wound down the window and shouted " c**t ." I smiled and replied " Yes but at least I am a rich one !"

This produced a puzzled look on his face and ended up with him giving me a " V " sign as I pulled away.

Before the Astons , I had a series of Porsches. I can recall attending a Porsche Club Great Britain event in Surrey a few years back with a GT3 , and staying overnight at an up market hotel. When I came out to the car park the following morning to drive home I found that someone had spat all over the car. If I had caught them , there would have been blood , and it wouldn't have been mine.

Reading a review on Tripadvisor for Claridge's an unhappy guest - only gave the hotel 1 star - mentions the poor standard of service by the staff.

"25th January 2013
Upon arrival we were greeted by fully surrounded scaffolding and a side door entrance whereby the door man totally ignored us and failed to open the taxi door to us, watched us pull our suitcases out by ourselves. Pushed past us through the revolving doors and raced past us to attend to two men in an Aston Martin."

1. the reviewer cannot be all bad - recognised the car was an AM. thumbup

2. the staff cannot be bad at all. angel

I've not had anything but positive comments about the Aston so far, I've had one or two in my other cars though, had a couple of similar instances while driving my TVR, admittedly I kinda drove it enthusiastically .I remember I cut this one bloke up but he was driving like a tw*t , he got out at the next lights screaming about my "kit car" and what he thought of me and offered to sort me out, so I duly obliged and began to unfurl from the Chim, he dissapeared before I got completely out, I was sooooo dissapointed. Another amusing incident involved some chavs in a VW Jetta on Deansgate Manchester while driving my Lincoln Navigator, they couldn't get past me and hurled abuse, tried to overtake and then pulled in right up my arse, driver got out shouting about it being a ponced up pimp mobile and that I don't own the road , he did, and went for my passenger door, which normally would be a drivers door on a UK car, the auto central lock was on , he looked very unhappy so I motioned to come around the front of the Nav to my drivers door on the left, as he was reaching for the handle my door flew open very unexpectedly and took his nose out and possibly a few teeth, a minor smear on my window but easily cleaned.I leant down to ask him how he was but he couldn't talk, so I took my foot off his throat and I walked around to the back of my car to his mates to ask them to help him up but they seemed reluctant to get out to help their mate.I lead a very dull existance most of the time and like the simple pleasures of driving but there does seem to be a lot of jealous twisted and wierd people out there who want to spoil it, I'm all for being nice .

Is the people really just throwing insults becaue you own a certain car?

Maybe they do it because of the driver and his/her behaviour!

Maybe the question might also be "did you deserve it?"
