Is it worth going from a 4.3 to a 4.7??

The pictures don't show it at its best Luna, looks almost black; much better in the flesh. What you need is a Griff. [swap you!!!!]

Do you look like Daniel Craig getting out of the Aston biggrin

...and to give an example of how much difference there is, on the way back from the Griff Growl, on the Shrewsbury bypass, coming off every roundabout, he left me for dead..... I'd love to make it harder work for him...... Oh he loves the Aston by the waysmile...:
He was probably working nicely to prevent you getting so far ahead through the roundabouts that he couldn't lay some power-to-weight on you. Was he doing the stty pant shuffle when you reached your destination?

You'll both simply have been enjoying different things about the experience. My Griff gets about 20% of the use the V8V does for a reason. One's a JagerBomb, the other a fine wine smile

He was a bit whitehehe Funny thing is Murph.... I had to drive his Griff a few weeks back..... It reminded me why I wouldn't go back to onesmile

Great fun, but bloody hard work......still miss my old one though..... Which with 300bhp used to leave his for dead....now he's getting his own backhehe

Very interesting reading all of your views. My situation is that i have the money to buy a 4.3 straight away but i have decided to wait and save up for a 4.7. It is so hard to wait for anything and in a previous life BWAC ( before wife and children) i would of just taken a loan and gone for it. Im hoping that next year the price of a good 4.7 will come down enough to buy one. If a car is 55k now i wonder what it will be late on next year??? Anyone got a crystal ball. By the way Bincenzo what type of helicopter do you fly??

Eurocopter AS350B at the moment, but I've flown most UK military types over the past 20 odd years.

Tried to teach an ex chinook pilot to land an airliner and he had target fixation. Made for a few interesting approaches !!!!!! Only done a few hours in rotary myself seemed far too difficult

Mine's 340bhp biggrin (Still has a lower power to weight ratio than my 7, but is far more of a handful to drive!).

This is the thing though. You chase power or straight line acceleration, you lose something else. With the 4.7, your first loss would be 15k (the second, IMO, is a nicer interior...but that's subjective). And how often do you truly, honestly find yourself rueing not having and extra 40bhp? By the look of it, your car spends a lot of time tucked up in its garage...40bhp will make feck all difference there biggrin (Not meant to be an offensive comment btw, just an observation).

~1k per month down to about 30k. Then it'll slow markedly dependent on mileage, spec, condition (sadly in that order).

Harsh but fairhehe

I'm going to keep my eyes peeled for an upgrade to a newer car..... But there's no rush, and it'll only happen if the right car comes along at the right price.....

In the meantime I shall enjoy what I havesmile

Wow, talk about clutching at straws to try and make a point. So one reason not to 'upgrade the power' is because the interior will be different. Class smile

Does a circa £55k early 4.7 car really drop by a £1000 a month. Seems a lot and if so then the cost to change between a 4.3 car and a 4.7 will gradually reduce to a more reasonable amount than 15k.

Nope. I think sMurph is exaggerating slightly to convey the point that depreciation is your biggest cost centre throughout ownership....even on the pre-owned route smile

Yes, but if you keep the car and never sell it, depreciation isn't an issue smile

Depreciation is ALWAYS an issue Georgio. If you never sell then you lose the entire expenditure !!!
