They're fine if you want your car fixed with second hand parts.

FFS it's an Aston Martin.

laugh

Of course it has nothing to do with the fact that most Astons do very little mileage so are a lower risk of a claim wink

I've just renewed with them and they are OK.

No idea how good they are at managing repairs, that's only something to worry about if you expect to be involved in an accident, but thats never going to happen to me, so basing the decision on price is fine

Just looking at my insurance as well.

On my DB9 they have come in at half the price of Lockton's but I cannot get comfortable with their policy on repairs. Over the phone they have told me I can use an Aston approved repairer but I would need to get two quotes. I live in the SW and believe there is only one locally approved repairer and therefore the other quote I would provide would be non-approved - and probably substantially cheaper. I believe that when push came to shove they would not want me to use the Aston approved repairer. May be unfair but I don't want to have to test it out.

I will be staying with Lockton's who I have to say provide a fantastic service whenever I have had to deal with them and seem more flexible. An example being that there would be no increase in premium if I had a sports exhaust fitted. Not sure that would be the case with Admiral.

Substantial savings on our other two cars so will be transferring them across when they fall due.

I'm with them. Never made a claim with the Aston, but I did when I wrote my Fiesta off. They were quite helpful, but offered a ridiculously low price for the car, and took a month or two of haggling to get it to something remotely close to the what it was worth.

Soooo untrue.

Am with Bell - Sister company of Admiral. Had a bodywork claim last year due to mountain bikes interfacing with the front end of the car. Bell recognised it was an Aston, and got it booked in repaired by the nearest Aston approved Bodyshop. Needed a new headlight as part of the repairs - which was a new Aston part.

had a cracked windscreen last month, just had it replaced (£70 windscreen excess). Looks new to me! wink

Insuring with them for the third year running - not only are they cheapest by FAR but my son had a claim experience when another car ran into his BMW. They authorised repair by a BMW paintshop and gave him compensation for the fact the car had been professionally detailed before the collision in order for it to be redone again because the BMW workshop could not do it. Plus his personal injury claim was settled in no time, they were very helpful. The offending driver was also insured with admiral, but the fact they went the extra mile with sons claim was a plus point for them.

The proof of the pudding is always in the eating of course but their multi car policy is superb value. As a family we have saved about £1500 this year over each car being insured separately. For the Aston, the next quote up was nearly double the price, as was my other sons VXR.

Having been unfortunate enough to have my V8V stolen on the 24th September i can report that the whole process was dealt with very well.My cheque arrived 5 1/2 weeks after my initial phone call to them which i thought was pretty good. Probably no their smallest payout that week and a small amount of haggling was involved but overall i'm back in the same position as if i wanted to buy the same spec car/year/mileage all over again. With winter coming up i will hold off until the new year until
i deceide what to buy. I am still with Admiral on my other vehicle and will "multi car" with them again ( glad i took out NCB)
like many others on here have commented , they are cheapest by far.
Interestingly enough the underwriters to my policy were Lloyds, i wonder if they rang the bell lol

The Admiral service is actually very good. For policy coverage I would recommend the Chubb policy through Locktons/ AMOC. Chubb also regularly win the best Claims service award. If you do go this route and you need to speak to Claire. I am in no way affiliated, but work in the insurance industry.

I just assume non of them will want to pay out and go with the cheapest -which Admiral are at the moment. Having said that their admin is noticeably better than many others I have used.

I'd never considered using Admiral's multi-car policy until I received my DBS renewal through the post this morning.

Their quote for my DBS, FFRR and D4 was just less than the renewal for just the DBS with my current insurer.

What's the catch?

you are all being unfair to Soovy. Not his fault if he can't fully understand complex documents such as insurance policies, as they are full of legal terms! wink

Zurich Private clients. One phone call, two claims > £20k.

No faff, no mess, no stress. Works Service all the way.

Why scrimp on your P+J...

Although not the way I'd say it, there is merit to the point Soovy made.

Admiral are currently quoting me 60% of my renewal cost with Locktons if I tie in another car on their 'Multi car' policy. The prices look very good to unusually good.... which normally has me searching for the Company's recent trading records, but so far the prices are difficult to better.

Whilst most of us are sensible and do not drink and drive, be extra careful if you're insured with the Admiral. Unless they've recently changed their policy wording, your car will not be covered if you have an accident and fail a breath test. Given that a number of people feel they can have a couple of pints and still be under the limit, there's no guarantee that you are - but it is guaranteed that Admiral won't pay out for your car if you get done. They will of course have to pay out to the third party .......
