DB9 MY09 wing mirrors
Discussion
After having a nose around Jockman's DB9 this weekend, I really liked the wing mirrors (the ones that were filled with Tony's V12V all day
) - they are much sleeker (and more expensive I assume) than the old Volvo units. From visual inspection, they seem to fit onto the same fixing area as my older mirror - in other words, the door/mounts doesn't look to have changed.
Are they a straight swap? And has anyone got the part number for them?
I found a photo here:

I didn't really notice them until James pointed them out, but you are indeed looking at the old volvo ones.
Glad you got permission to post up that copyright photo
Quick search on the net does no good so could be a tricky one to find unless you want to ask BR.
Did find a new Owner's Manual for £200, and I discovered that the ECU comes in 315mhz or 433mhz.
So not a complete waste of time

Might have guessed you'd be the one to pick me up on that

Group buy would be interesting. I've just emailed a couple of places to find out about pricing etc.
Anyone else keen for a pair? Assuming they're a straight swap that is.

Called me confused. Isn't the upper photo the 'old style', not the lower photo as you have noted?

Are the little sticky outy bits that hold the mirror to the car supposed to be painted? Mine are just black plastic.
Nope - both are similar styles - the stumps and lower part of the mirrors are black plastic on new and old. I think the (copyright'd) photo of the new mirror I have is from the unveiling of the DB9 facelift so might have been colour coded for that purpose.DB9VolanteDriver said:

The upper photo is the newer style. Sleeker and the mirrors are distinctly separate from the door (thinner, longer beam). The older style have much less separation (thicker, shorter beam).jamesc12 said:

I think this 'middle' one is probably the sleekest and best looking though the new ones are on the large size - regulations? If I can maintain the powerfold... And it won't cost much to paint as James says, colour match only needs to be 99%. Stuart Dickinson said:
There's actually an even newer version as well! The lower photo there is the early MY DB9's, the upper is from around 2007/8MY until 2011 at which point there's a newer, taller one.
In which case, well-spotted DB9VolanteDriver Rick told me a while back about issues with the wing mirrors being too small (especially on the One-77) so Yeti may well be correct too on the regulations bit
