On iPhone at airport so a short post. Xmas eve old neighbour came round. Lovely car and sat on it. Aghast. Bonnet now slightly dished enough to distort reflections. I am in west London. Any recommendations as to where to get repaired. A google search in non specific but seems to suggest can be done with heat? Thanks. Jeremy

Tonbridge Coachworks in Kent. They're an aston approved body shop and used by the main dealers. Ask for Steve Arber.

Your neighbour just popped round and sat on your bonnet?! That's almost as bad as popping round to have a feel of your wife's sticky out bits...... Infant no, it's much, much worse!

Hope you get it all fixed ok, and slap him with the bill!

Tonbridge coachworks......as long as nothing gets sprayed then ok....as all of their sprayers are colour blind...they sprayed my old DB9 the wrong colour.....but any good body shop will be able to sort small dish dent at realaivity low cost...

It's not that easy with aluminium as it doesn't have a memory in the same way steel does.......your neighbour is a plonker ! I'm sure it will get sorted

I'm sorry but why would any adult sit on the bonnet of your car unless it was for a glamour shoot? Bit of jelousy and knew exactly what he was doing? If he hadn't dented it he more than likely would have scratched it!

Inexcusable, slap him with the repair bill then drag him off for a good slapping too.

Ignorance, more like. Which could be partly down to the "it's just a car" mentality. You cannot defeat that mentality. I've tried and given up.

I would try a dent doctor first, before resorting to a body repair shop.

Definitely talk to a dent guy.

I once closed the rear boot lid of my Boxster onto a case of wine and left a bottle top shaped convex bulge in in it. It's aluminium too and I never thought there was any hope of getting it out.

A rallying mate Seb Ling (Pro-Dent) came and after about an hour of the most delicate tapping it was completely gone. Not a scratch or a blemish. Brilliant!!

As long as the paints not cracked these guys work magic

Sorry to throw a spanner in the works, but is not the bonnet NOT a single piece of Ali? Its got sound proofing and reinforcing welded on it. I'm not sure they will be able to, "tap", their way to a flawless finish.

You don't seriously think that he was motivated by malice?

I highly recommend you go here in the first instance based Upon personal experience

http://www.dentrewind.co.uk/

I had a dent in my porche 928's door on the bracing strip, these have Aluminium doors and it was deep, he removed in an hour ! Absolutely amazing, also attended to a couple of other dents in my other cars that I was sure would need beating and spraying... He cringed and said he would give it a go, 30 minutes later looked like new.

I had my XK8 repaired at Tonbridge coach works after it was reversed into, they got a good match in colour but failed to prepare the panel correctly and had to have redone within a year as rust bubbles appeared frown

If a paintless repair fails then its has only cost you £50 - £100, if it succeeds you will have saved £1000 and not had to worry about paint matching which as we know may look okay in daylight but fails under street lights frown.

Regards Mark

Take a look at this: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=122...

If you don't want to get involved with paint I reckon that guy is your man.

So you know the wker who sat on your car and damaged it, yet you're going to pay for it? confused

I'd be causing an equal amount of damage in £ to his car if he refuses to pay. What a , who sits on their own car, let alone someone elses?!

Exactly! If my neighbour had a DB9 I'd be scared to sit in the drivers seat never mind on the bonnet!

Probably just a hammer to the wing mirrors and a drill through the side wall of the tyres smile
