After much want, research, driving, debate......

I took the PLUNGE... Some pics....

...................

...................

Ok.... Joking....... Just this one, but good enough:

Collected Monday. Was overwhelming to say the least.
Spent the whole day at Aston Works. Stuff of dreams.

All of this happened because of this excellent forum and some will remember this car as it belonged to another member here... You know who you are!

  • Now, got to sort out the tracker issue (is it really £250 per year)?
  • And a decent set of overmats.
Any advice on the above would me appreciated..

Thanks to everyone who contributed to my many posts!

Very nice and welcome to the V12V club. Be careful in these low temperatures and those Corsa's yes

I hope the number plate spacing does not get your collar felt by le rozzers ........

The vantage collection for mats, very nice quality.

There is much debate on tracker or no tracker !!! Yes it is £250, but against a professional it is next to useless as easy to block. Insurance may insist on it though?

Now just get yourself onto some meets wink

tyvm!

The spacing on the plate is being adressed. I have ordered new plates.

My insurance insists on the tracker which is a real bummer tbh. Can I not use another company than Eurowatch? They are by far the most expensive of the bunch and I seriously could not care less about having one.

I tried the vantage collection on mats: emails, phone calls, message on website. Everything twice and no reponse. Strange.

Car looks great and what a great choice. As regards mats have you tried the HWM site on eBay. Usually their parts are well priced.

Hi Ian, just done that. £321.60.
Seems a bit unreasonable or is it just me?

I got my mats from AutoStyle and am very pleased with the quality and the match to the internal carpets.

From £60 depending on options chosen.

Yep it is £250 a year for your tracker. I have recently sorted this out. Get your mobile paired with your tracker unit and you won't have to carry the pad around, just your mobile. biggrin

I purchased my over mats from here:

http://www.astonstore.co.uk/product/Floormats_2_Pi...

(These are the Aston ones and are only the driver and passenger mats)

Very good company, price £328.03 incl vat and P&P will be delivered next day.

Lovely car biggrin.

Should have negotiated a bit harder and got them thrown in wink. Given the price I now realise why the salesman looked horrified when I said unless they were in I was not doing the deal but I got them!

I went for the cheapest tracker just to appease the insurance company which is no phone/no fob but just activates when I call them and tell them my car has been nicked!

Well done that man. As soon as you're able, get some proper protection on the paint, other than the autoglym stuff they will have used.

Enjoy, it's a very special car.

Try and get some perspective there's a good chap...... It's just a slightly miss spaced plate.

There's a hardly used set of these Aston Martin mats ending on eBay tonight with a start price of only £150. I can confirm they are very good quality (I should know as they're mine!) item number (if allowed) - 290852634570

(I'm not sure what's happened to the aston parts I listed here in the classifieds, they all seem to have disappeared smash )

erics - congrats on the purchase of your fantastic car btw
(the reply received via eBay is from myself, if you want more info feel free to ask but if you do buy there will have to be a compulsory pax ride as part of the deal winkbeer )

Congratulations, stunning car that will only get better as the warmer weather comes.

I actually think the plate spacing looks fine. It's not chavvy, I'd be tempted to keep them, however if your initials arnt jj then perhaps less relevant

Thanks everyone for the kind comments.

I got the plate as part of the deal. I am not keen on the spacing either, so will get back to standard V12VJJ outlook as soon as I have the new plates which should be tomorrow or friday.

Will look to have the car detailed very soon. Should have better pics in the near future. Will obviously post..
