My 2005 DB9 has developed a rattle from the defrost vents. Does anyone know how to remove it? It appears to be snapped in with some kind of black goop/sealant around it but can't be for sure. I could not find the info in the shop manual either. If anyone can provide some insight it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

This is what the 'Squeaks and Rattles' Manual says about doors:

Door Noises
Door Trim Panel Assembly Rattle SRO: 01.05.GY
Safe VINs: DB9 - B10337, V8 Vantage - C10283 Repair:
1. Remove the front door trim panel from the door (refer to Workshop Manual procedure 01.05.CB).
2. Install three anti-rattle pads (SPD5596) onto the door at the positions shown in Figures 1 and 2.
Figure 1 – Left Door
Figure 2 – Right Door
3. Install the door trim panel onto the door (refer to Workshop Manual procedure 01.05.CB).

(The Figures/pictures show arrows pointing at the tabs that the door card attaches to).

But I used to have an annoying rattle which used to come from the driver's door card. I ended up taking off the door card, shook it around for a bit and a 50p piece fell out. Rattle sorted. smile

Defrost vents are held in by two screw on either vent. Absolute nightmare to get out without a mini screwdriver with a 90 degree bend in it. Watch you dont whack the window either.

Best thing you can do if they are rattling is slide felt under them as best as possible. Or take to AM as they have the special tool to remove.

Hi Nick, there are a few bits in the document, I think one is for a window - I must confess I just have it on my laptop and haven't used it smile

If you ping me a PM i'll email it over (I can't access from the office).

Cheers!
