Can anyone recommend a good 'in car' camera for capturing video and stills? (Going on the AM Centenary Tour next month whoop whoop!!)
Many people think the Go Pro Hero Black HD cam is the bees knees. From the footage I have seen it looks very good. http://gopro.com/cameras/hd-hero3-black-edition?gc...

Hi Jan, Can't recommend a camera I'm afraid but must make sure I get in front of you on the tour to get some good pictures of our car Are you doing the mini tour as well? Should be a great experience IanV12VR said:

Yes doing mini tour as well so looking forward to seeing you in Ashford Can arrange to include your car in the video - no problem - be a pleasure Yep Gopro is ideal for the video, for stills you may be better off with a normal SLR or compact.
Gopro cameras are very adaptable and there are a multitude of different mounts available, you need a rigid mount to avoid camera shake.
Been looking at mounting mine in the Vantage today, using a Manfrotto clamp mount which I had laying around. It seems to fit OK, and most importantly doesn’t mark the surface of the bar. The extension arm is removed via a quick release so very easy to take off. I just need to try it out to see if it's steady enough.
I’ve also got a suction mount which can be clamped to the car (if you’re brave enough) or to the windscreen for a more “road” orientated view. Ideally you need to swap the view around a bit, so that you can create a nice set of angles in post editing.

If you are looking for something a little more permanent which is a full journey recorder with speed, location, etc recorded as well as video, I use the Mi-Witness camera, plus side it is finished in piano black too to match the dash!
Hers a link to the original post I put up showing it being fitted and finished product, very discrete in the cabin.

Best of luck whatever you pick!

How's the Mi-Witness going Steve? still not decided on my accident camera yet.
Going great thanks Allan, no problems or issues, I must confess its great to have it in the cab and being hard wired in is seamless in operation. I wish I had one in the other cars too, somehow or other there always seems to be more idiots about when Mrs Steve is driving..... Gassing Station | Aston Martin | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
