Pirelli Corsa's in the wet - V12V
Discussion
Having only had the V12V for just over a week, i havent really done much driving in the wet (fortunately), but have been reading quite a bit about the Corsa's not being so good in the wet - are they completely unusable, or is it just a case of being a little bit sensible and going a bit steady..?
They don't have a particularly deep tread pattern to clear water but the 'problem' seems to be more related to cold weather when they struggle to get any temperature and therefore grip.
They're fine in the wet, just go steady as you would be in a torquey six litre V12, until you're used to them
More than one owner has switched to regular P-Zeros though (as per DBS) due to them being superior for grip in all situations but the warmest driest roads. They lose out a fair bit to the more focussed dry weather tyre, but my use sees me in the car in all weathers and temperatures so I'm happier with an all-round compromise tyre.

They are not too bad in the wet providing it is warm. They are however terrible in both the wet and dry when it is cold - I think the officialy quoted temp is 9C.
I think it's 6c. Regardless of tyre type, with other 500BHP on tap, it would be sensible to ease off a tad when it's wet and/or cold IMO. stimshady said:
Great, thanks guys, so in theory it shouldn't just go launching itself off the road in the damp!
Will certainly spend a few minutes warming them up though

- WARNING DO NOT FOLLOW THIS ADVICE

Don't use the sport button in the wet unless you have good reactions
Certainly don't use Corsa's in the wet if your name is Tony and you have won almost £200million on the Euromillions
or if your windscreen has misted up, you have a stone chip on the bonnet or indeed you vinette is placed in the top left corner instead of the bottom left on the windscreen. In all other circumstances foot flat to the floor
As others, cold is your enemy unless you get temperature into them, which Lottery Tony thinks is difficult in sub-zero conditions apparantly

I thought top left was where vignette had to go
anyway....I will just buy a new car when I need a new vignette...good job I don't smoke or the ashtray would be full by now

Likewise, or what is left after Cockers set fire to them in Germany. Given that his only comment was that one of the wheels was slightly out of balance and we are both still alive, they most be OK at worst.
Never had a problem with them but obviously, I am very old.
That was the brakes on fire Never had a problem with them but obviously, I am very old.
The tyres were fine, hot though

I've got Bridgestone Potenza's, what's the general consensus of them?
Going to change all 4's shortly, also wondering whether to switch.
After the run in Germany I think the Potenzas are fantastic. Never let me down Going to change all 4's shortly, also wondering whether to switch.

Might just swap to the straight P Zeros and wimp out
Don't!!!
As poor as the Corsa's are in the cold, its easy to stay safe even in snow as long as you drive with your brain switched on.
They are however, EPIC in the dry in summer! I have never driven a car with tyres that actually "churp" in hard cornering on a twisty lane on hot summers day. Worth every penny for that alone, even if we have far more downside days in the UK, than upside.
