It was mentioned on another thread about the possibility of renting Castle Combe for the day.

If we could get 10 people it would be circa £300 each apparently. So who's up for it?

Sorry Georgio...I'm busy on that day biggrin
Really? We could do with a pace car biggrin

Cockernee is in luck though - the R1 has gone now. My CBR is a lot slower so he might actually win (still not on the straights though!) smile

Cheers George, I will bring my Audi as at 107dB, my Aston will not pass the noise check. This will need to wait until after the BR resonator before I can go.
We can wait. Too cold at the minute anyway, it started bloody snowing at Oulton on Saturday! Don't want that happening again smile

Well cockers... Purely in the interests of science and tame racing drivers aside wink we think its time to put to bed the V12 and V8 discussion once and for all....

No favoritism, may the best sibling win..!
I'll be looking forward to watching that smile

I was going to go on my bike to prove to Cockernee that a car cannot keep up with a bike in a straight line.... but now I think my little 600 may not be fast enough. I'll see if I can borrow my mate's Panigale Superstock bike instead biggrin

So are we just pretending the >very< restrictive noise limits there don't exist..? scratchchin
What about Oulton then? 102dB there.

Angelsey don't even noise test bikes... could go there smile

As I said on email, Llandow don't test for noise either. They are small circuits though, ill suited to big power heavy cars... like Goodwood is smile
That's a valid point. As a supporter of the V12 I want Cockernee to beat Mike. We need to find a circuit with relaxed noise limits and a long straight! biggrin

Snetterton would be ideal or Thruxton in the UK for power, SPA is definately a V12 circuit yes I think we are all overlooking Simon T, he will be the one setting the times as it is his home circuit. Hopefully he will bring something special along for the day that can lap around the 60 second mark yes That I need to see.
Snetterton would be a bit expensive to rent wouldn't it?

Can I brink 2 cars! Ones a track only toy but happy to let others have a play with it on track.. A new engine is less than the cost of 4 Aston tyres and v curious to see how it compares.
Definitely smile

I'm bringing a bike and a car I hope, as long as my mate can come down in his van.

Proper track toys yes

More fun than road cars and normally much cheaper
Plus we've all seen Astons before, I'd love to see some properly interesting and different cars going round smile

FWIW, I really, really do not like the idea of cars and bikes on track at the same time - assuming any track would even let that happen?

I have never been on a TD with bikes as well, always assumed bikes and cars had their own days.
No idea, it was just the only idea that popped up when I said bikes are faster than cars and Cockers disagreed. Doesn't bother me, I'd actually be more scared to take an Aston round. I presume if you hire the track you can do what you like?

Then a Lotus Exige yes or even an S2 Elise at a lot less money. But an Exige is great fun on the road and can be driven to and from the circuit. I have my eye on one as I don't want to kill my Aston off on track and I have now got the racing bug again.......

Edited by Cockernee on Thursday 28th February 17:10
I tried an Exige a while back. Discounted one due to the fact I looked a massive tool trying to get in and out of one!

If it was for purely track days I'd be looking more Lotus 340R or 2-Eleven smile

Ariel Atom would be the top of the list though cloud9

Geiorge, are you still coming if you can't ride you bike (which you can't, obviously)?
Well the main reason this all started was on a car vs bike conversation with Cockernee... so I'd have liked to take the bike. Not sure about tracking a road car, it doesn't bode well with me but I'll definitely come down even if I don't go on track smile

From experience with Llandow, prices vary wildly depending on time of year and day of the week. It'll cost twice as much (ish) for a weekend over a weekday, but we'll get more people.

Might be worth a poll George to see whether weekends or weekdays are better; hasn't even been discussed yet!

Are we set on Combe? No worries for me, just wondering if somewhere central will be better for the Northern/Midland monkies.

If a weekend at Combe, a local spa hotel could work for the other halves, or dropping the uninterested girls (i.e. not Molly smile) off in Bath before hand?
I'd rather not do Combe, I love Oulton personally! Maybe Cadwell?

I can't do polls so I'll designate you to do them for me biggrin
