There should be an option to "buy the colour you like in the first place"

Of course that isn't always an option. Suppose you find the ideal car and everything is perfect except for it is in a very unpopular color. Wrapping may allow you to buy the car at a substantial discount and change the color after the sale. Also, wrapping allows you to get the feeling like you're getting a new/different car without the additional expense/depreciation. Sort of like getting your wife to change her hair color (or wear a wig) so you can be with a "different" woman without the pesky divorce or alimony costs. ![biggrin](/inc/images/biggrin.gif)

Well that's because 95% of posts on there are "look at my new 27" chrome tasteless wheels" etc.
Actually, 6speed's Aston forum has a much higher percentage of serious technical topics than Pistonheads. We have two actual Aston techs who actively participate in discussions and help resolve car issues. If you have a problem with your car, you are much more likely to get a useful answer there whereas here your question will get lost in a sea of off-topic drivel within minutes.
